Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

My shopping had already been shifting over to Coles due to better pricing, better stores, more promos and less queues. The only thing that kept me shopping at Woolworths at all was their Qantas Points Promos - with them gone so will I be. As others in the thread have already mentioned, it's...

attention red roo - resolution of award bookings ex bkk and china

I booked online then called the Jakarta office once they emailed through the booking. It's probably worth calling first to ensure it's still the case though.

attention red roo - resolution of award bookings ex bkk and china

Previously I've been able to pay the Jakarta office with an AMEX card without needing it to be sighted (but they said only with AMEX, not Visa or Mastercard). Probably worth calling to confirm if that's still possible.

    Heads up about program changes

It wouldn't surprise me if they never updated the mileage when the airport moved in Hong Kong. That'd be about 18 miles between the two at a guess.

What the? QF Jakarta-Singapore business class $310

As mentioned above it's related to Idul Fitri - in past years QF has put on additional direct QF41/42 flights to cater for the demand for people taking holidays at the end of Ramadan. I guess they weren't confident of filling the entire plane so looked to take a detour instead out of Singapore...

Overview of Best Qantas Status Run Options [not the discussion thread]

Just a heads-up in regards to the current Jetstar 9th birthday sale. Checking flights from SYD-WLG (via AKL) the cost is only $93 each way and the add on for the plus bundle is only $2 extra each way! So for $190 all up return you should earn 60SC's, plus the opportunity to stock up on some...

QF International Classic Award 20% Promo discount

I was looking over the Christmas period, where fares are currently about $1500 return (and based on past years they're likely to stay around that mark).

QF International Classic Award 20% Promo discount

At least to CGK it presents some decent value for peak season flights (especially as there's no expedia.com.br options available on that route). Agreed that for most destinations or in low season there's not much value in a Classic Award these days.

Interesting article on the use of predictive analytics by AMEX

I spotted the following article about the use of predictive analytics by AMEX in Asia Pacific - Amex expands predictive analytics platform - Software - Technology - News - iTnews.com.au . Given what appears to have been quite a shedding of cardholders in the past year, especially amongst AFF'ers...

Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

BKK, MNL and NRT all come up cheaper than on the Australian site from the playing around I did.

Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site) As mentioned on OzBargain as well if you go to expedia.com.br the price comes down even lower, close to $400 return.

Plus the ability to redeem on MH now as well through to LHR too as yet another option.

    QF/EK FF benefits revealed

It looks like I'll have to get in quickly to book my wife's next trip home with the flagged changes to the luggage allowance. Last trip in Business Class we managed to have over 160kg across six bags all up on the way over (the joys of Christmas giving). Halving those totals is going to cause...

PER gets daily Garuda CGK service

Given the timing of the current JQ flights PER-CGK I don't think Garuda will face too much competition to make this route a success. Having flown them a few times recently within Indonesia they have a pretty competitive product with their refreshed fleet.

    QF's Asia announcement

I certainly hope that QF can keep flying until Garuda joins SkyTeam at least. Definitely in no hurry to fly JQ that sort of distance anyway. Even SQ via SIN or MH via KUL would be more appealing.

    QF's Asia announcement

I'm just glad to see the CGK flights still hanging in there, though the pointy end of the plane always seems pretty full whenever I take QF41 or QF42. An increase of frequencies would be nice, but seeing what's happening elsewhere I'll just be grateful for what I've got!

attention red roo - resolution of award bookings ex bkk and china

On my most recent purchase of a JASA from Jakarta I was now able to pay by AMEX without needing to go to the ticketing office. For Visa or Mastercard it would have still required fronting up in person though.

    New point structure

My spend at McDonald's has come up as 1.5 points per dollar. I haven't tried it anywhere else of value thus far - doesn't really encourage me to do so either if that's the case.

    Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

I received a waiver last year, but when requesting this year it was a no-go. My spend was down this year though which may have contributed to the rejection.

    Qantas Club questions

I'd add to the recommendation to get a Priority Pass membership rather than a Qantas Club one given the flights you've listed and anticipated future flights. If you have a Visa card you can sign up at http://www.prioritypass.com/VISA2012 for a decent discount over the standard price.
