I had a SMF-LAX-BNE with a similar ticket, actual printout stated less baggage allowance but there were no problems/and no questions just a smile and thank you upon checking bags.

When I transferred, ANZ was the best and opened up a pathway to easily transfer back and forth without huge fees. Thursday is the "go" day for best rates coming this way. You should be able to negotiate the fees for amounts over $100K... anyhow I did but that was back in the days of .62 exchange.

Learning the ff points game takes time, if you don't have it...use a points bookie! Money well spent if your time is scant.

I had the wrong year!!! Looking at old posts I guess (now see it was 2009).

The answer I got from Qantas is: NO, the booking software as well as Seat Guru or others do not/will not know ahead of time which exact seating plan will be for a fight in advance. They quoted having several (3 or more) configs on 747s.

It was 3hours 10mins last time I was in LAX to clear from original landing time. Plane(s) were late with a huge backlog so customs was delayed also. I no longer plan anything for that same day arrival into LAX. Good luck!
