    A330 - XFA/B - Refit?

Sitting in the MEL VA lounge - unsurprisingly an announcement comes over the speakers that a service to PER has been delayed by an hour due to tech issues on an 330 aircraft. What are the odds it's A or B? :P

Virgin Australia UpgradeMe pricing and success

Give me an E Jet over a 373 any day! The upgrade me on transcont flights is a very neat way to get a reasonably cheap J fare.

    Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

Thanks, but I prefer the layover than taking the risk and getting a coughpy old Qantas 737 on CBR-PER.

    Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

Their booking options for Canberra - Perth is shocking too. 4, 5 hour layovers in Melbourne or Sydney. VA needs to start a direct service or improve online booking options!

Virgin Australia’s free Wireless In-flight Entertainment system

Re: Virgin Australia WIFI IFE Because just about every poll/survey/study clearly states more high-end business travellers are using iPads and iPhones. Don't know about you but when I walk down a 737 on a MEL-SYD run there are often a dozen or so people using iPads and almost no one, if any...

Old EK 330s - Something needs to be done

As a gold Velocity member who frequents the SYD/MEL-PER route, every time I book and then when I board the plane, I get a pang of anxiety just in case I'm confronted with an old EK 330. While the J product may be acceptable (the IFE isn't), it's another story in economy. The shocking seats make...

    Lounge at HBA

I don't think they'll be able to say anything more than JB did a couple of months ago.

    Virgin Lounge Food

    Fantastic news!!!

    Virgin Lounge Food

Totally agree with all points. They might not be pretty, but even 'gourmet' sausage rolls/spring rolls with sauce would be very welcome. The soup and cold meats/salads/stale bread doesn't cut it. More craft/independent beer in some of the bigger lounges would also be welcome as well.

QF Tweet & Eat (MEL) [13th April 2013]

I was there yesterday mate and I'm Gold on QFF. I just think it would be good if those who have attended all of them to date step back and let other's have a chance at the opportunity.

QF Tweet & Eat (MEL) [13th April 2013]

These events Qantas puts on are really quite special. To those who have attended one or both events, it might be time to step back and let others attend. The numbers are so limited and sought after, well beyond the AFF bubble. If it's the same handful of people attending each time, Qantas is...

On Debut in Chairmans Lounge Sydney.

Settle down, my original post was merely was a comment about someone getting all worked up over a piece of information that's pretty freely available. The same person who was proudly stating their lack of understanding of social media - where a lot of that information is. Didn't mean anything...

On Debut in Chairmans Lounge Sydney.

Correct me if I'm wrong but one of your posts did draw a link from your age to not understanding Twitter.

On Debut in Chairmans Lounge Sydney.

Amusing how it's only the...more senior in age posters who are concerned about this. I've seen people post photos from the CL on Instagram, quite a few times - with the hashtag just to make sure everyone can see it! Qantas acknowledges it exists, and the days of silos of information are past...

I have had enough.... [Offloaded after Flight not called in VA lounge]

People might be a little more sympathetic if you didn't turn the hyperbole up to 11 with comments like Virgin not wanting you as a customer. At the end of the day the responsibility is on you to make it to your flight, why didn't you ask an angel what was going on before the scheduled...

I'm sticking with Virgin J (vs Qantas)

This is true, to an extent. Unfortunately there are still a lot of bogans and noisy families who would have been flying from the Virgin Blue days. Hopefully the takeover of Tiger can fix this.

    Qantas & Singapore

The only downside with moving to SQ would be their so called 'lounge' in Melbourne. Virgin might even match your status if you are serious about SQ but still want decent recognition in Australia.

I don't wish to offend anyone but .... [I don't like Qantas using Dubai]

Oh gosh! Those mean 'politically correct types' ruining it for everyone else! If not wanting to be rude about other cultures I may not know enough about, haven't experienced or don't agree with then I'm proud to be 'politically correct'. As gran says, if you don't have anything nice to say...

    Virgin Food [Flexi Fare]

I had a flight to OOL (from MEL) a couple of days ago on flexi and was really, really impressed with the breakfast. It was bircher muesli but it was with apple and it was surprisingly delicious! Really flavourful with cinnamon etc. It also came with a pretty large slice of banana bread which...
