    Pickpocketed in Bangkok: by Qantas

"Gesture of goodwill" and "One time exception" = Lawyer speak for '"here's your refund", and it's not serious enough for us to tie you up in a Non Disclosure Agreement.

    MEL taxi scam

It is there for efficiency, uber operates my like a cab now. Previously it was terribly inefficient, people waiting for specific vehicles to turn up from the holding area to collect them .. 10-15min waits and a complete mess (which it is with DiDi). But it could be easily solved by having a...

Qantas Denial of OW Emerald access to Sydney First Lounge

Rare, but some airlines actually have a checkin setup that specifically allows you to use the benefits of one program (in a “status” field ) whilst accruing to another “frequent traveller”) field. (SQ does this). Obviously not oneworld but this is not Star alliance wide so it seems something...

No Qantas Lounge Access when Flying QF Codeshare on IndiGo

If travelling on the operating carrier code, I agree. If travelling on a QF codeshare which is always in conjunction with a QF flight from AU or UK (which is usually l at a full service price) it may well have better margins for a LCC than a FSC - the LCC may charge QF less to carry the...

    Jetstar B787 Reliability Issues

In theory there are plenty of options within the QF group - so they should have processes in place to keep customers happy by utilising other JQ services (via DPS), QF direct services or various other QF services that serve SIN instead of shafting passengers onto 24 hr delayed flights. Not...

Beijing Capital Airlines to fly to MEL

Hong Kong is becoming ever closer to becoming just another Chinese city anyway. Such that CX is becoming ever closer to becoming anothet Chinese airline, albeit a premium one with much better English and catering much better to the international market. As they say now 1 country , 1.5 systems

SQ J reward seat Ex-Europe to Asia Availability

There’s three types of SQ business class travellers. Those who fly SQ for the first time and are impressed Those who fly SQ for the first time and are unimpressed Those who fly SQ regularly and are deeply unimpressed and then they fly someone else and miss all the little things they actually...

SQ J reward seat Ex-Europe to Asia Availability

Maybe it's just star alliance programs that sell miles. But then again they didn't seem to offer much in the way of J class to any star alliance partners other than Aeroplan in recent times (LH Miles & More used to be great, then they turned that tap off suddenly).

SQ J reward seat Ex-Europe to Asia Availability

SQ tends to block programs who sell miles, I’m surprised Aeroplan seemed to have generous availability for so long.

    Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

@Melburnian1 is about time we had a separate thread for JQ 7/8? I mean it would probably be longer than most other threads in this subforum. 🤣

    Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

JQ8 tonight now cancelled completely. Well past time to outlaw politician access to the CL and get serious with EU261 style compensation. Let’s hope those hoping to arrive on Christmas morning have been rebooked onto QF36 or QF38, yesterday’s JQ8 (which is now due to depart 23 hrs late) or...

    Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Google suggests tonight’s JQ8 will be departing early on Christmas morning (at 5:30am) arriving mid afternoon. Indeed no flights in the air right now.

    Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

At this point they should be required by both AU and SG governments to put a warning for passengers to confirm before completing the purchase that they understand the flight has the worst performance of any flight departing or flying to Australia and that it is entirely likely you will arrive...

    What cheeses me off

There’s a certain type of person who thinks if they pay for something they can do what they like and damn anyone else. Obviously including flinging faeces all over the wall.

Is the Australian Landing Card Still Necessary in the Written Form?

Working in the agricultural space , the farm question always was a difficult one., as quite often would have been on a farm within the 30 days before coming back to visit Australia. In the end I take the question it is asking in relation to my shoes and clothing - not me personally - as the...

    What cheeses me off

Hope so! It seems to work ok in T4 car park. To be fair, the current design, with multiple lanes and loads of pick up bays, should work in theory. The big fail is accounting for human behaviour - people practically park in those spots for 5-10 mins, instead of waiting somewhere else until...

    What cheeses me off

The Fustercluck that is MEL Airport Arrivals pickup at T1/2/3. No wonder touts have business there. The whole thing needs nuking and start again. OK, maybe I'm spoilt with Changi, but I think if you had to design a pick up area for an airport of MEL's passenger levels, it would be a good...

    MEL taxi scam

Yes, apparently, don't get into the car, or particularly don't put luggage into the boot until verifying the PIN with the driver. Scammers get you into the car, and drive off with PIN not valid or the like.

No more secondary gate screening on Australia bound flights from certain airports?

Interesting. Not a requirement for DPS-SIN flights, I’ve done a few over the years, including KLM twice this year and never had secondary screening. Must be a JQ requirement.

    What cheeses me off

Not for the businesses where cash is substantially less than electronic forms of payment. I bet a chunk of that cash never makes it way to the bank.
