SQ J reward seat Ex-Europe to Asia Availability

SQ from Aus to/from Se Asia is the biggest miss for Aeroplan. Buying Aeroplan points - with good availability even up to a few months ago - and it would effectively be under $2k return to lots of SE Asian destinations in J.

Asia to Europe is less of a concern to me as that paid fares from quite a few SE Asian cities would be good value.

On SQ I agree they're a bit overrated but clearly better than QF and are also updating cabins/lounges over the next two years.

I don't think you can talk about the single choice of starter on SQ and not mention the larger variety available for main especially with BTC.

Sure the SQ lounge at T3 can be crowded at peak times but it really is streets ahead of the Sydney QF J lounge (let alone Melbourne). Though we will see what the upgraded QF J lounge looks like in a couple of years time...

There’s three types of SQ business class travellers.

Those who fly SQ for the first time and are impressed

Those who fly SQ for the first time and are unimpressed

Those who fly SQ regularly and are deeply unimpressed and then they fly someone else and miss all the little things they actually like about SQ despite being really annoyed at lots of things like single choice fishy entrees when you hate seafood..

Based in SIN , for me, despite their faults the thing I like the most is I can wake up in the morning , go to the airport and travel all over Asia, to Australia, to Europe, to South Africa or even to as far as NeW York and go the bed that night in a hotel. Without the compelling need to sleep on the plane. (Admittedly difficult from Australia LOL or to Europe other than FRA, LHR or CDG).

If flying to Australia, for example, I don’t need doors or PJs because I don’t need to sleep on the day flight down, but on the other carrier that is not an option at all. I’ve got to travel overnight.

They are making record profits, availability of awards is probably the worst it’s ever been, somehow I think they’re doing enough to keep enough customers happy enough of the time.

The big advantages over QF that SG has are a greater choice of daytime flights both to and from SIN.
Add to that even now it is much easier to get J awards on SQ . And quite often on he day you want and can still be obtained via Velocity.

On QF much less choice of daytime flights. Virtually impossible to get classic awards and if you can very likely to be on JQ.

And I have no significant status with either airline.

As to complains about the food I really like the seafood entree and enjoy Asian food. Plus BTC is a good way to often get what you want.
