    Amber Electric

Correct although I think I remember seeing the possibility of negative FITs mentioned on the website. So the answer to this is that the amber app has the option of automatic solar curtailment; that is, once selected the algorithm will automatically send a message to the battery/solar system to...

Correct; or at least that's what they claim.

OK; so a lot to cover in @Quickstatus 's post. I'll do my best to answer but first let me make some general comments: I'm not a spokesperson for amber and I'm not trying to flog their product; but if someone is interested in giving them a try then why not take advantage of the referral offer...

Thanks to those who have used my referral code. It has helped put me into credit for the past 6 months. The current referral offer is still $10 per month for 12 months. My referral code here...

Double Status Credits - QBR Exclusive (October 2025)

IME QF will keep fobbing you off until at least the 8 weeks have passed and then will advise to wait another 2 weeks. Patience truly is a virtue when dealing with QF.

    2025 Amex Membership Rewards Devaluation

I guess the lesson from some of the more recent posts is not to leave things until the last minute; a lesson it took me more than 70 years to learn. So much less stressful doing things at least a couple of days early.

New aviation industry ombudsman & customer rights charter in Australia

Well in the case we took to the CTTT in NSW the commissioner advised that if we proceeded beyond a certain point the other side would be entitled to claim their legal costs. Fortunately we won and they had to pay ours.

New aviation industry ombudsman & customer rights charter in Australia

Not in my experience. On both occasions I've been to a tribunal, the other side had a lawyer arguing their case.

    Amex point conversions

SQ has good availability and low taxes but your points (miles) will be subject to a three year hard expiry. That is, if you haven't used them within 3 years of transferring them, you will loose them.

1 hour 10 into the flight and our Cpt has finally eased back on the power; I can actually hear myself think for the first time and I managed to get a refill. Things are looking up.

QF1299 departed CFS ontime but the "hot and delicious" quiche was stone cold. Well done to the crew who put them back in the oven for a second try! In seat 10A on the A220 right beside the engine. Bloody hell; don't ever try to tell me a Q400 is noisy. At least the grenache is OK. Time for a...

HUACA. The Binge subscription points should show up in your account within a couple of days of your $19 payment and the 10SCs a day or two after that. At least that's what happened for +1.

    Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

I was looking at the sustainable hotels and was surprised to see that the Novotel in Brisbane South Bank was cheaper than the Ibis Styles for the date I was looking at. Given that members would be looking at these hotels mainly to get the green leaf, has anyone done the numbers to see which is...
