Iberia Airlines - Refund Approved But Cant Pay

Abbreviation already spelled out by @VPS. It functions like our BSB. My wise account has three types of identification, an Account number, a Routing Number (for Wire and ACH) and Swift/BIC number. The ACH number = Routing Number. The account also shows Routing number is "Only used for...

Iberia Airlines - Refund Approved But Cant Pay

But neither I or the OP were taking about AS. My reference to "they" was not to AS. It was to IB, which is the topic of this thread. AS and IB almost certainly have different processes - just because AS only choose to refund to a debit card doesn't mean refunding to a bank account is...

Iberia Airlines - Refund Approved But Cant Pay

Sounds very much like it. Seems to be very common with Iberia. Shame they can't follow the lead of their sister Spanish IAG subsidiary, Vueling, which seems much better with prompt payment (or was for us anyway in both essential items and EU261 claims).

Iberia Airlines - Refund Approved But Cant Pay

But if they take US domestic bank transfers as they originally advised, they can pay without Swift code - it is superfluous/unnecessary information (not needed for US-US transfer) that caused them to say no. If you'd gone back to them with just the ACH and account number they probably could...

Which airlines offer compassionate fares and are they worth it?

TBH, the best way to access last minute fares when in need for urgent compassionate travel (internationally anyway) is to post here and tap into the AFF brains trust. I do recall several such posts over the years. Sometimes it’s about speed and sometimes about price. Unfortunately not so...

Article: Have Australians Stopped Flying to the USA? Here’s What the Data Says…

Keep on hearing about these crime ridden war zone cities like Chicago, San Francisco, New York, Boston etc. If only hotel prices would reflect that, it would be worth venturing into these war zones! As it stands difficult to find anywhere cheap, although now that it’s almost winter Chicago...

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

As a Melburnian I do remain sceptical that MEL will ever see QANTSAS doing non-stops to either LHR or JFK! They have talked about CDG, and I think the other one in the mix that has been mentioned is SYD-ORD.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Agreed, Will service #3 be MEL-LHR, or SYD-CDG or a second daily either SYD-JFK or SYD-LHR?

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

So to bring this thread back on topic, you don't think we'll see project sunrise flights from WSI-LTN any time soon? 🤣:p

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Ummm perhaps not in this thread, which has gone way off on a tangent on WSI, which of course has its own thread where it is covered about 10 times. 🤣

Aer Lingus Suspends Pilot For Denying Non-Union Crew Business Class Seats

Something I didn’t know - I’d always been led to believe that weight issues were important during take off and landing , but less of an issue in flight. Are the parameters so sensitive that the location of 8 people on a 120 t aircraft is criticall during cruise?

Iberia Airlines - Refund Approved But Cant Pay

Most (all?) banks have a SWIFT code. This is only needed for international transfers. It is usually not needed for domestic transfers. So if IB were transferring from a domestic US bank account the SWIFT code is superfluous information - thus when provided with it, my take on this is that...

Article: Have Australians Stopped Flying to the USA? Here’s What the Data Says…

Surely it's not about plans to stay illegally, but whether the CBP think that you at risk of doing so. All the media articles suggest people with links to the US (such as having had a long term visa to stay there, past or present, having marital or relationship connections with a US citizen or...

Iberia Airlines - Refund Approved But Cant Pay

I read it the other way around, that it could not be refunded via Swift. If OP gave them the swift number (unnecessarily), that could cause agent to say "computer says no" . If OP just gave them the ACH and account numbers, it might well have been OK.

Iberia Airlines - Refund Approved But Cant Pay

Yes and I think these should suffice for intra-US transfer. I understand SWIFT number is only required for international transfers.

Using Points to book flight for friend.

Unless you are in relationship (thus could be considered Domestic Partners), it is against the T&C, as you can only redeem tickets for or transfer points to "eligible family members". However as long as you are not doing this routinely and/or selling points/tickets through public forums...

Iberia Airlines - Refund Approved But Cant Pay

It's odd they offer it in the first place. Because I would have thought if they are transferring from within the US they don't need SWIFT (the Wise account is a US account), but if they are transferring from outside the US I would have thought any US account needs SWIFT. Although who knows...

Avianca LifeMiles – Bookings and Discussion

One thing worth trying is to do individual airline searches. Sometimes that returns different results than the general “star alliance” search or “smart search”.

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

The Senior myki gets extra benefits - such as free weekend travel - that are it would seem not offered to interstate and international visitors. So yes it seems there are different types of concession mykis.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

No doubt it will be, particularly for late evening departures. But I can’t see it being attractive for flagship routes such as sunrise that are targeting the premium market. WSI-LHR has probably as much chance of happening as SYD-LGW.
