VKG diverted to SIN earlier this week and is still there. VKI has been grounded in NRT since earlier this week VKJ has been in HKG for a few weeks for assumed engineering.

It appears multiple 787s are grounded again. One stuck in SGN it seems.

Some nasty delays around the network today due to the wind in Melbourne flowing on. Jetstar Avalon to Brisbane 2140 departure still on the ground at Avalon after arriving in late. Departure now 0100.

Air T doesn’t have much cash on hand looking at their numbers. They would struggle to get capital from any bank also. It appears a bit of cash is needed to get this operation moving along. I assume this will be heavily propped up by the Government when they hand over the keys.

They have always been amateurs in this area. Press Releases, Statements, Marketing, it’s all just done poorly.

Getting leases is one thing. Finding a few hundred million in startup capital is another, then the next few hundred million once that is burnt.

Didn’t they walk away with the government paying out their share? I’d imagine they would be better to cut their losses and walk with whatever they managed to secure. They had been on the board for years, would have been across the financial postion, yet did nothing until the final moment. Hard...

I believe he is connecting to the RAAF KC30 Washington Express in BNE which explains the suit. The aircraft is parked at International awaiting the QF flight to land.

It sounds like they are hiring or using a specific team on the ground like Jetstar does. They go around to most gates (especially in Mel) with the scales and EFT machine. I’ve see plenty of years and tantrums over the years with that.

Having a look this is all I found from the latest report this year. Jetstar Japan share of profits materially benefited from +$22m FX gain on lease liabilities I’m no expert on FX, but it appears GK leases its fleet (orders are not from the QF book) and then re leases onto JQ. I’m not sure...

The profit bit seems to be always connected to foreign exchange or leasing. Jetstar Asia was profitable in a few years for those reasons also. The current FY it was his noted as the Japan business is ‘on track’ to be profitable for this FY. If anything perhaps JAL would take full control...

It would be sad to see the end of the Eskimo and Hawaiian girl, but I guess it sort of inevitable in the longer run. Some new era of management in the future if not current, will no doubt make one brand. The new 787 livery doesn’t do much for me. Love the Eskimo tail.
