Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

If phoning, don't mention RTW: that's a different ticket using cash, not points. What you are after is a Oneworld Award and you don't even need to mention this. Just say you want to book some flights using your points. If your itinerary prices at more than the expected 152,200 points, it...

Article: The Most Useful Frequent Flyer Tools & Apps

Thanks for the informative article @Mattg . I'm wondering if you find any use for Optiontown these days? (I remember your $32 upgrade to J in Africa a few years ago.)

Not necessarily. +1 transfered some WOW points and didn't receive a message.

Solar Panel, Power & Battery Discussion

When I've had issues I contact my installer who then contacts amber. So far things have been sorted pretty quickly.

Solar Panel, Power & Battery Discussion

Yes I am happy with amber. It takes a few months for the algorithms to get to know your usage patterns. We have a BnB within our property so usage varies greatly depending on whether we have guests or not. Initially I used to override the algorithms when I thought I knew better but now I just...

I have pointed this out previously. It basically rules me out of relying on amex insurance.

That's why I've taken the time to train some of the staff at local watering holes.

Not quite. An old fart pretending to be a cash poor pensioner so he can turn left!

    Woolworths gift card thread

No way! I've "trained" the staff at my local RSL so I can easily spend down to zero. (I don't care what they think; I'm old enough to look like a pensioner so they just nod, knowingly).

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

WOW, only 95! I'ld go for it. In my case, I need to live to at least 150, even with DSCs.

I believe QF changed that so that they do count, after a lot of bad feed back.

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

Wed 11 December. I'll be interested to see what you find. I should add that Y has better availability as a CR if you look a couple of months ahead but the example I gave is not uncommon within 4 to 6 weeks. A combination of CR availability and the introduction of the A220.

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

For me, the only positive thing I've been able to find with regards to Classic Plus is that, for flights to/from my home town, Classic in J is often better value than Y in Classic Plus... I've previously felt I needed a good reason to fly business instead of economy on a short daytime...

AFF Gathering #18 in MEL on 21-23 November 2025

My flight to MEL has changed to the A220 so the flight number is now QF1299. Gem56 will already be in Melbourne staying with family. She will be departing on QF466 with me and we're both staying at the Sebel in Kew.

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

Thanks for pointing this out. I wonder if it also works via Avios? I've noticed a near total lack of award flights on the QF website from CFS to SYD unless booking months in advance. For example, there are currently no CR seats in Oct or Nov, only C+ and I refuse to pay those prices. That...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

I'm well aware of that but the OP hasn't stated that they are only looking for a Oneworld award (despite that being the title of this thread). Seems to me they just want to get there using QF points.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

As @MEL_Traveller says, they don't need to be oneworld hubs; just somwhere a Oneworld airline OR Qantas partner flies to/from. What Aus city are you hoping to depart from? Which destination airport are you open to? Is EK acceptable (higher points & taxes)? Stopover or straight through?

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

You need to look at transiting via less popular hubs. Try CGK MNL KUL TPE BLR DEL etc.
