SYD Named 5th Most Luxurious Airport in the world

Got me in one. I am a sad and unimportant person, whereas you are very important and every minute of your life you are doing great benefit to mankind.

    Changi Matters

(Yes, if AU is your destination, duty free is deliver to the gate, so you need to purchase it 90(?) minutes before flight time.) Five hours is effectively four hours I suppose, so if you did not want to enter Singapore, you could visit the butterfly garden and orchid garden, take the skytrain...

SYD Named 5th Most Luxurious Airport in the world

No additional effort (or cost) if you are transiting SIN anyway. Bottles are delivered to your seat on the plane. Easier than going to Dan's.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

But Australia is just not a big enough market and Qantas not a big enough airline to have lots of point to point routes. So a lot of pax will end up with two x transits with the first and third sectors on coughpy narrowbodies, as per @jase05 examples in his comment above. Even if Sydney-based...

SYD Named 5th Most Luxurious Airport in the world

SIN Lotte DF: A$25 for Tanqueray 1L 47% versus Dan Murphy A$70 Tanqueray 1L 40%. Not to be sneezed at (when buying up to your allowance of 2L).

SYD Named 5th Most Luxurious Airport in the world

Maybe they are just equating expensive with luxury.

    Changi Matters

Sorry, not sure. But the S$27.50 list price seems standard, and that is still very cheap. Correction: I just checked my receipt. It was S$27.00 list, with 20% off if buy 2! That is insane.

    Changi Matters

Tanqueray 1L at S$27.50 or buy two for 10% off - sensational price! It's the proper stuff at 47%.

The Five Stans of The Silk Road (2023)

I flew into Tashkent from Seoul with Asiana, who are excellent. Domestic inter-city travel within Uzbekistan was by train, which was also excellent.

Seoul/South Korea for Christmas New Year

Bloody cold but it's a great city with lots to see - the palace, the historic village, markets, fish market, shopping arcades attached to metro stations (some of these are interesting and on a theme, eg vinyl record shops). And the food!

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

Bless, Qantas customers expecting Qantas to actually implement improved products instead of just promising them "next year."

    General Virgin Australia Lounge Discussion

Yeah, it's been a bit average, but to be fair, on my last visit to the SYD lounge, they had a chicken korma and rice for lunch, and the korma was nice (although too mild for my taste) and packed with chicken, which was great. I was expecting three or four lonely pieces swimming in lots of sauce...

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

But it is the dividers that make policing possible, with the rope that can be placed across. On the Y seats, has anyone measured the actual leg room of the new vs old. Presumably the pitch is less but the seat itself is thinner.

Terminal 3 Silverkris Business Lounge (not *G lounge)

Last time I visited T3 SKL, I thought the food was great. Maybe some people don't like the type of foods provided?

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

Well, that article that started this thread didn't age well! Written in 2022, and still waiting for action from Qantas.

    Etihad 787 Business Class Review - EY 462 AUH-MEL

Y or J? (I can imagine the 777 Y seats would be horrible at 10 abreast but should I also avoid 777 J?)
