    Ways that hotels annoy guests

Doonas on beds when you are in the tropics! Power points that are hidden behind bed side tables or nowhere near the bed. No international power points. Things like fire alarms sensor lights and TV stand-by lights that are unbelievably bright in a dark room.

    Etiquette Question

So, I’m going to open up an old wound – reclining seats. First up, I’m pro–reclining. I’m a big, tall bloke, and I like the extra bit of room. I was on ScootPlus, and the person in front of me did the full recline—all good, as I still had enough room. The issue was that I needed to go to the...

Latitude 28 Degrees $8 per month starting September 2024

My card was hacked a few days after Latitude announced this! That speeded up the cancellation process lol

Article: GOL Airlines Doesn’t Want My Money

I find when using a VPN, that some web sites only seem to work with some browsers. Computershare only seems to like Firefox, and others only like Chrome etc. So maybe try different browsers if using a VPN.

Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

So in a row of three seats, you are in seat one, and hold seat two. The guy in seat three starts putting his stuff on the empty seat two. Cue the next in flight drama.

Emirates hikes up carrier charges on reward seats

I've flown EK a few times and could never understand the hype. Their J product is fine but standard like most full service airlines. I'll def give them a miss now.

    28 Degrees C/C under Latitude

Sure. A hotel bill for INR26940.03 came through at AUD $553.75. Even with a really bad exchange rate (using OANDA Converter), I would have thought that it should have been AUD $524 approx. Another amount of INR2484, came through at $50.43. A bad exchange rate would have been $48.33. Yeah, I...

    28 Degrees C/C under Latitude

I have just been overseas and used my 28 Degrees c/card quite a bit as I always do while travelling, but this is the first time I have done so since Latitude took over the card. I noticed this time that the exchange rates are fairly terrible. Under GE, the exchange rates were fairly good,but...

Credit Card sign ups for extra points

There always seems to be plenty of credit cards that you can sign up for, to obtain extra sign on points. However, I have noticed that the offer usually does not apply to existing card holders and they cannot take advantage of these points. So my question is - if you are say, an existing Amex...

Business Class Seats on A380 on Points

I always just book to another Euro city and then just get a cheap internal flight to London or use the train. I find that there are more seats to other capital cities and the taxes etc are considerably cheaper than for London, which pay for the internal flights.

Qantas says Jetstar doesn't levy credit card surcharges - but a 'comfort fee'

Its a little while since I booked with QF or J*, but last time i did, I paid via BPay, which there was no charge. But my BPay account is linked with my c/card that earns QF points. Thus, I earned the points with no C/Card fee. Has this changed?

Qantas says Jetstar doesn't levy credit card surcharges - but a 'comfort fee'

Comfort fee sounds like the term - Comfort women - that the Japanese used during the war for prostitutes. Should we draw any analogies?

Booking FF flights via call centre and the fees

In the past, when I haven't been able to book a flight online using my QFF points due to it being an odd start and finish, I have just phoned Qantas and they have booked it but waive the 6000 point penalty. For example, I recently booked SIN to BOM via their call centre as it wasn't available...

Changing flights on Jetstar and the huge costs!

I bought a Bus tix from Jetstar (Mel-Sin) last year to use earlier this year but had to change the dates due to work reasons. It was their basic business class fare and NOT the upgraded one (called Bus Fare with Max) that allows refunds etc. Despite the fact that the price advertised on the...

Appropriate Behaviour in the QF Lounges

I am not a member but I have managed to go the lounge quite a few times over the years and I am ALWAYS amazed at the number of bogans and yobbos in there. (Probably the reason why I wouldnt join). Feet and shoes on furniture, poor hygiene practices, oafish behaviour etc seem to be standard. And...

Anyone with tips and tricks for earning QFF points?

Maybe I'm a little naive here, but wouldn't you have to spend a lot of money to get there 45k points. Surely it would almost be a case of spending more money than you would gain!

Best and worst experiences in Y class

I lived in London for a few years and was always shooting off to Euroland for short breaks. Two flights with BA convinced me never to fly them again. Each time I spoke to the cabin crew with my 'colonial' accent, you could almost see the bad smell appear under their nose - and I do not have...

Why fly business? I don't see the value?

I'm 195cm tall. For that reason alone, I fly Business on nternational flights. On domestic, i'll put up with cattle class, as it is usually Mel- SYD or Mel-Bne anyway. WHen I arrive though, I am quite happy to go cheaper on the hotel - not backpackers but quite happy with 2 or 3 star.
