    Qantas Points not paid

I'm not sure if the rules have changed, but I upgraded from my paid DONE4 J flight to an F class on the SYD/LHR sector. When I checked my points today, the flight was acknowledged but with no points. It was my understanding from previous upgrades that you still get your SC's and Points for your...

Using QFF Points for First Class

My upgrade from J to F came through last night so I'm very excited about my first A380 experience Sydney - London. I didn't think the J product looked all that much improved from the 747's but F definitely looks different. To get back to the topic, I think if you can blow some points for the...

    Qantas Business Class Sale

Well I'm stoked. I just cancelled our flight to England for Christmas (original cost $11,426) and rebooked the exact same flights for $7502! A MASSIVE saving - lost $200 cancellation fee for the previously paid ticket but saved $3,723 a ticket! The sale includes the below flights from Dec 01 -...

BA vs QF Business Class London=>Sydney

I have a tendency to go Qantas but only because of the upgrade opportunities. In my experience BA is a better business class product long-haul. I think their service is better and the lie flat seats are guaranteed (vs Qantas only on the A380)

    Air Crash Investigation

Gee. As much as I love the show I wouldn't dare switching it on in an ariport lounge!

    Window Blinds..up or down

This is definitely my big hate with flying. As for closed/open blinds, I prefer closed. That's what reading lights are for. In saying that, I try to fly night time flights so I can sleep as much as possible.

Which agent to use for Euro flights?

I've already booked a holiday this Christmas in England - flying Qantas J Class (one paid and two on points). We've decided to take two short side trips to Berlin and Barcelona. My question dear forumers, is should we a) book direct on the BA website b) call Qantas and try add the trips onto...

    Air Crash Investigation

I like the one that happened just after 9/11 when the plane crashed into the houses - I think I get into the episodes that area really graphic with the crash re-enactment for some reason. On Friday repeat night I still tape them but just watch the intros until they crash. Not trying to sound...

I HAVE watched it on my iPod whilst flying - SO good bu mindful not to let others see it

    Air Crash Investigation

Good to know I'm not alone. Hubby freaks and won't stay in the same room so I have to watch it when I'm on my own. Must admit it does make me think a bit differently. For example, I was going to wait until the A380 had it's first couple of incidents so they could iron out the problems before I...

    Air Crash Investigation

Is anyone here a major fan of the show? I've always wondered if regular travellers watch it. I'm totally addicted to it myself.

    QF A380 First Commercial Flight

I'm so lame I don't remember what I got - whether it was the brochure, mag or both. I know I got something. I spent about 20K last year. I'm not helping figure out the criteria am I :p On a more exciting note I get my first A380 experience SYD/LHR in 3 weeks. Have requested J>F upgrade but not...

What have you found on a plane - in the seat pocket or elsewhere?

Not in a seat pocket but I left my iPod in the BA first class lounge. It was nearly closing time and I remembered as soon as I boarded the plane. Hostess called the lounge for me but it wasn't there - it had been nicked within 15 mins.

    Centurion Invitation

To be covered with insurance for the Platinum card and other credit cards for that matter, do you need to purchase / hire the item with that particular card though? I think that's why I ignore it - too hard to remember which card needs to be used for what. *groan* I called Platinum Card...

    Changes to Special meals

I HATE being served first cause they serve the meal but often not the drink so then you're stuck waiting for that. I'd rather be served with everyone else, get a drink with my meal and have the meal sitting on my table for less time. Can't have it all though. I'm just glad vegetarian meals are...

    Centurion Invitation

Yep. It's what I do best. Waste money and throw it away on stupid un-needed things :) Those T&Cs are so long I just throw them out. My bad I know. I really need to read them next time and decide whether it's worth keeping the Plat card since I never use it

The quickest way of accumulating frequent flyer points

I book ALL flights for my business and personal use through my Qantas branded Amex and I've noticed a major difference as I think it's 4 points per dollar for Qantas flights. I've earnt 562,000 points since May - or enough to fly hubby and step-son to England in business class this Christmas.
