ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Agreed - I have a friend who at my prompting did this as well. They too received the "Not Qualified" notification. Miffed enough, they submitted a pleasantly worded "please explain". A non contrite, grammatically challenged and seemingly canned answer was received within a few hours: My...

Virgin 737-8 Max Business Class - No Divider

Yes, and anything other than a small flat pack will not fit in the area under the seat in front of the 3B/3E PAX. Mind you, in the prior config, no bags could be on the floor in front of Row 3 PAX for takeoff/landing.

    Qatar A380 Crew Secrets

Again, you seem to miss my point: On QR business you generally have more choice and better options with that additional choice than with QF.

    Multi-city booking

This is semantically incorrect. There is a limit of five stopovers, but transits/segments are not something so limited. @Adju To be clear, the online booking engine will only allow selection of up to six segments. 16 flight segments are allowed in a Qantas oneworld award, but the member...

    Qatar A380 Crew Secrets

While very well true; crew/circumstances can make or break the cooking/presentation of meals, there is the basic availability to be considered. What i was referring to was a general comparison between the long-haul business class offerings of each airline.

    Qatar A380 Crew Secrets

I guess with the QF Galley Lead/assist, I am sure that generally they try their best. However, given the comparative ingredients they start with there is only so much lipstick you can put on a pig.

Airports absurdly close to the city

It depends when they walked. Pre COVID and shortly after there was a reasonable walkway with placards at points of interest etc. . The walkway seems to have been basically let go in the last year or two.

    Lounge Access Help Desk

Just saw this, Yes, Qantas First lounge at SIN until it closes based on the connecting flights rule. You'll need to catch the airside bus to T4 for your CX flight - I'd go no later than midnight should the QF lounge stay open past 11 for some reason. You have enough time to check out the BA...

    Canberra lunch - Saturday 12 July 2025

My plans are to arrive Kingston Station after 5:30pm Friday and depart 9am Sunday. Keeping it cheapish, I'm staying at the Ibis Styles Friday and Saturday; just a half hour walk from the lunch venue.

    AA ditches Mileage upgrade awards

It is the latter ... with respect to AAdvantage miles. I have not looked closely, but instrument/"certificate" uupgrades are not something I have seen reference to here. I have used cash upgrades in the last year or three where it seemed reasonable, e.g. AKL-DFW Y to PE for USD170, TUL-LAX to...

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

Last year I flew return on a Qantas 081- ticket MEL-(QF)-xSIN-(MH)-KUL - it was about $35 more than MEL-(QF)-SIN return available during the same sale. All booked into O class, so no earn on the KUL legs.

Qantas Changes Acknowledgement of Country arrival Announcement

[Moderator hat] It has become clear that some members can’t discuss this without veering away from the specific topic; which was the acknowledgement as articulated after landing. The moderation team tried to define a narrow focus to avoid such but this has been in vain. This post is numbered...

What is your favourite hotel loyalty program, and why?

Guaranteed benefits are what interest me most in deciding status opportunity/pursuit. Generally, I go where the free breakfast is ... upgrades are nice but you can't eat a view; guaranteed late check out can occasionally be useful. I average about 40 room nights a year so need to optimise...
