Absolutely they could enter the lounge - as long as travel is to a region that is part of their JSA. But that is was not what was being inferred.

You need to be flying on an Emirates marketed and operated flight.

To be clear - Qantas (or Virgin or Skybus) have never done a "welcome to country" (at least in this context). What the topic of this thread relates to is a change to Qantas' "acknowledgement of country".

This is true - I actually flew SYD-xNAN-NRT - first segment on 359. I had no trouble sleeping on the A330 (11:55pm to 6:00am), angled or not.
