No refund after dishonoured Neighbour-Free Seats

It doesn't sound like the flight was a narrow body aircraft (which is an aircraft with only one aisle). So is there another section that refers to wide body aircraft?

    Frustration with Accelerate (Business Program/Portal)

The inability to retrospectively add is a function of how VA initially set up the way bookings were tracked. The way VA did that was through a specific code that was entered on the actual ticket, and not in the PNR. So if the ticket has been issued, without the code, then adding it later is...

Will a no-show on one flight void the subsequent flight on a multi-city?

It is whether it is on the same ticket, not same PNR. By the sound of things, it is one ticket. So yes, you'll have the second leg cancelled if you no show for the first. Always a danger to book connections in separate PNRs.

Velocity have messed up my Award Booking - HELP

Ah yes. So it is. In that case, it's a matter of whether the name of the booking was clearly stated/confirmed, and if it was, then VA has to sort it out and honor it. Good luck. Hopefully they have kept the call recording. I often find airlines seem to lose them, or there was a fault in their...

Velocity have messed up my Award Booking - HELP

How much of an error is it? Ie - how wrong is the spelling? One or two letters is generally possible to change, larger errors often not. But if you spelt your name correctly to the person making the booking, and they didn't book it correctly, then it is VAs problem to fix regardless of whether...

    Luxury Travel Agent Recommendations?

Yes, the amenities are per room, per stay. So each room would get the hotel credit.

Help - Who’s Had Problems with Webjet?

The problem, as it is right now, is Webjets to manage. It's not a difficult one, they just rebook you on the best connection available out of LA, or reroute via Sydney. Whatever you want really. Same fare class doesn't need to be available, just the same cabin. This happens regularly, so not...

Penalised for a no show on a Qantas Award?

As long as it is the last flight on an itinerary, there wouldn’t be any penalty other than loss of fare. You would likely still be able to get the taxes refunded, but if you are going to go through that process, then you may as well cancel prior and get the few points back that makes up the...

Any one Changed away from Amex Since Devaluation

My patterns haven’t changed - mix of Centurion, Plat Charge and Reserve. Still the best combination out there for what I use it for. I wish Amex would improve the forex fees and then they would get a lot more!

Booking codeshare Qantas flights in america

Unless the ticket is connected to the international ticket (which it won’t be if you’re now booking it separately), then there will be no included baggage in Economy, other than anything you’re entitled to with your status. I’m surprised you’re even able to book the codeshare as a standalone...

    The House v QF F

QF would win hands down. Was in The House last night and it was crowded (not that QF isn't) and the food offering ordinary, and no seats to even eat at. We left early and went for a wander for some peace and quiet! I've been in The House before and it wasn't nearly as bad. Might have been a...

QFF redemption on CX metal, is no middle name OK?

This is exactly the issue I referred to in my earlier post. Online check in will not work if the name doesn't exactly match the passport information you enter. Qantas can reissue the ticket and they do have the authority to do that. It's no different to any other agent wanting to do a name...

QFF redemption on CX metal, is no middle name OK?

You'll probably not be able to do online check-in, but airport check in should be ok. We always book CX with middle names now to avoid the hassle, and QF should really be doing the same.

    Booking cars with Expedia

You can pull up the booking on the car company website and you'll see the rate details as well. The AUD amount is approximate and you'll always be charged locally for car hire. The ZAR amount won't vary after you book, unless you change something with the contract at pick up.

    Booking cars with Expedia

The Expedia rates are always what is booked and in our experience, is what is charged. Because they're paid direct to the car hire company if you accept insurance, go over the kilometres etc the rate will change. So if the rate is different, it is most likely the car hire company, not Expedia.

    Credit Card v Cash

That would have had more to do with the fare class purchaed and the T&C's of the FF program than where it was purchased. If you'd bought the same fare direct it still wouldn't have earned points.

Travel agent has better price than VA - any downsides?

Sounds like the Premium Leisure fare that DL/VA make available through certain agents. Perfectly legit if that is what it is.

    AMEX Travel- Limited fare classes?

Air NZ is a funny one with their fare types and a lot of the online booking engines struggle to differentiate/communicate what's included in what fare class. It's really only NZ that does it that way in this region. So it sounds like Amex have just limited the results to seat plus bag fares to...

Has anyone used a visa-processing agency?

We use TexVisas in Sydney for the more infrequent or unusual applications that might go pear shaped. Much much cheaper than CBIT and have never had a problem.

    Time for refunds

Was the original form of payment credit card? If it was, refunds should normally come through in a few days, rather than weeks.
