Time for refunds

Has anyone had any recent experience with how long it takes to get a refund from SQ?

I chased them today after 8 weeks - refund was a given, waiver of cancellation fee (on supporting documentation) has been escalated. Escalation had been closed on 1 November. But I suspect they never processed the refund despite them telling me otherwise, especially as I only got the refund invoice after I rang this week.

They’re telling me another 4 weeks wait, which is frankly unacceptable.

That’s 3 months wait for a refund on a fully refundable ticket.

I have certainly never had a delay of that period. The longest I have had to wait is about 4 weeks and that took a bit of chasing. Sounds like very poor customer service. I would be on the phone everyday chasing it as well as sending in a letter of complaint.
 
Was the original form of payment credit card? If it was, refunds should normally come through in a few days, rather than weeks.
