What’s the best deal on renewing qantas club?

Fly enough to make Gold or LTG. Otherwise as @fletty says, or an even bigger employer.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Seems @Mattg was on the money. The JQ 320N is due into MEL tonight, so about 48hrs TLS -MCT -KUL -MEL. So probably means a Sunday evening departure from Hamburg (or maybe Monday morning if one stopping) for VH-OGA.

Article: Bizarre Airline Lounge Access Restrictions at Bangkok Airport

Yep. Believe the craziness is over. Note that QF elites can't visit the EK lounge, and sometime soon QF and oneworld pax won't be able to visit the QR lounge, as access to the SAT terminal is restricted to those departing from that terminal.

    The NSW TrainLink Discovery Pass

I think this more just showed how cheap/ unsustainable some of the Opal fares are for longer distances. (On a per km basis it's even cheaper than the D trains (not the HSR trains) in China). And equally the 3/6 months passes were massive discounts on what would be normal vs shorter passes.

    Middle East Airspace Diversions/Cancellations

Not just EK. All the ME airlines airports are just across the Persian Gulf from Iran.

Would you fly at a less convenient time to get a nicer plane?

Would also say it depends on the airline. Some are known for switching aircraft more than others.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

All the multi-segment tricks are devalued. On the flip others are getting 50+ SCs for late booking SYD-MEL returns (before double SCs). But I can't imagine it's that a high of a percentage of VA customers that typically fly multi segment

    Qantas' New A321XLR

The JQ A320N VH-A5D now on delivery flight as JQ8991. Seemingly TLS -MCT (probably -KUL -MEL)

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

Think the main issue would be disruption. Particularly whether there are enough suitable aircraft available and whether any operators would take on the risk of the Rex fleet.

Airports absurdly close to the city

Flown into GIB twice, have relatives who work in Gib, live in Spain, so have actually dragged luggage over the runway a couple of times, as well as crossing on scooter and car. The airport tunnel finally opened in 2023 after a lot of issues between Gibraltar and Spain, but believe one can...

Buying a phone from overseas - what do I need to know so that it is compatible with use in Oz with a Telstra SIM?

That's also a huge battery in the request list... most are sub 5000mAh.

Buying a phone from overseas - what do I need to know so that it is compatible with use in Oz with a Telstra SIM?

Think it's more there aren't a lot of tough/rugged phones full stop. Equally there are good quality rugged cases out there (eg. Otterbox) but they only seem to support the Apple/ Samsung range, whereas I think the OP is after more of a sub-$500 phone.
