"Flight not eligible for advance seat selection"

I am getting a similar "Flight not eligible for advance seat selection" for QF439 (SYD-MEL) on Tue 06 Dec. All I can select is the window/aisle preference. (I did get moved onto that flight yesterday after QF437 was cancelled.) (I can select a seat on my return flight the following day.)

AA Flights Booked into H class, Full Economy SC's or Discount?

Thanks for that answer and link serfty. However, I still think (and I'm not having a go at you here!) that the Table is apt to confuse, and could reasonably be argued to be "likely to mislead or deceive" within the meaning of the relevant provisions of the Australian Consumer Law. I do accept...

AA Flights Booked into H class, Full Economy SC's or Discount?

Doesn't that same table also say that B, H, K and Y are classed as the economy cabin class (as opposed to G, L, M, N, S and V, which are explicitly stated to be the discount economy cabin class), meaning that H should earn (full) economy status credits?

Which, unfortunately, means no lounge access for QP/SG/WP flying Y on QF368 ICN-SYD, right?

    What routes should QF fly?

Hmmm. Might as well forget about an Asian hub then and get some 777-200LRs to operate DRW-LHR/ATH/FCO/CDG/FRA/MAD/MXP/TXL/ZRH and whereever else in Europe it would be nice to see Qantas metal! Then route everybody through Darwin rather than Asia!

QF 8 forced to land at [insert Pacific Island] due to strong headwinds

    Amazingly, the great circle mileage difference between DFW-BNE and DFW-NOU-BNE is a mere single mile! DFW-BNE: 8303 miles DFW-NOU: 7402 miles NOU-BNE: 902 miles DFW-NOU-BNE: 8304 miles

Class conscious: UA denies J passenger salmon

I noticed the following letter ("Class conscious") in the SMH about a UA J passenger who claims to have been denied her request for salmon because her status did not entitle her to select that from the menu: Letters: seat charge rankles What do we make of this? PS, I am not the author of the...

    AA/Qantas flight in USA

I'm with branners on this issue, and recently had a similar issue with an AS-operated QF flight. I held my ground, and eventually won. In my view, if the Qantas Manage Your Booking page shows that 2 pieces of checked baggage are included, Qantas is making a clear representation that the...

    Seat 71D on A380 LAX-SYD

Hi Aynat62 (and others), I recently travelled in 71D from LAX to SYD and highly recommend the seat*. The extra leg room, particularly on such a long flight, is invaluable. Luckily, like lsmi4126, 71E next to me was vacant, giving me even more room, which was really welcomed. Of course, if...

    International Transit Time in SFO

Thanks for the responses serfty and Baysider. I know that there are a few later direct AA flights between SFO and DFW; I just hope that there are seats available should QF73 be delayed. The seat availability chart on the AA website seems to show the next flight (AA610) as being near capacity. (I...

    International Transit Time in SFO

A related question on transiting through SFO: I have 1:55 between landing on QF73 from SYD at 08:35 and departing on QF3063/AA2034 for DFW at 10:30 on 5 March. Does anybody foresee problems for this connection? Does QF73 have a reputation for being late? I have only caught it once (with no...

    Qantas raises fuel surcharge

SMH has reported that Qantas is raising its international fuel surcharges to $145 one-way for flights to Europe/UK; $115 for the Americas and Africa; and $75 for Asia/Pacific. Fare rise: Qantas raises fuel surcharge Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. I couldn't see it anywhere already.

First Customer Advisory Panel newsletter for 2011

I am glad that I am not the only one who noticed, and who was annoyed by, that rather unprofessional and blatently incorrect use of an apostrophe.
