    Free Express Card Distribution

(I'm assuming the chances of SQ giving me one, as a VA SG, are somewhere between zero and nil!) If you don't get an express card before you leave ask for one at the boarding gate in Singapore, the give them out with the arrival card. I am KF gold and they don't always give me one but when I...

    KrisFlyer Upgrade Query

For question 1, Yes. Which leg is better to upgrade is a matter of personal opinion and subject to what day you are travelling. Question 2 - don't know. Krisflyer miles still accrue on the base Y fare so you could still be earning miles.

    Buying apartment in London

My old housemate has a small one bed flat in Norbiton (zone 5) she is trying to sell. It's not big but very close to the train station and inside your budget. On stop from Kingston on Thames and about two stops the other direction to Wimbledon.

    KF Card expiries when?

In the case of my wife they emailed her warning her that her account was expiring as an encouragement to fly more. She had been a gold card at one point but I would have thought they could easily contact any expiring member.

New to KF: Award vs Upgrade

There are no taxes due on an upgrade using points but you have to purchase a fully flexible fair to start with. Something in your original post suggests you want to try and book an award Y ticket and then upgrade that to J, I don't think that will be possible. Best thing to do is create a dummy...

SQ236 BNE-SIN Inflight service Plus transfers

They will serve a lunch just after take off and a second hot snack prior to landing. Both will have Asian and Western themed food. You shouldn't struggle for entertainment, Singapore normally have more most recent films than other carriers as well as many other options. The website will probably...

New to KF: Award vs Upgrade

You can upgrade on line easily and the 15% discount gets applied in the transaction. If you call them it won't normally apply. Saver upgrades are limited and hard to get at the popular travel times. Just bear in mind with a fair redemption you still need to pay the taxes, etc on top at the time...

    MH Pulling out of BNE?

The MH Lounge isn't great compared to other lounges in South East Asia (the bar area only has seats for a few people despite its size). I don't think they have somewhere you can nap .

    Which wine cabinet?

I thought I replied to this the other day but the post is missing. The Vintec type cabinets work using a compressor where as the lower spec cabinets have a thermoelectric cooling system, also called Peltier cooling. Vintec have a bit of information in a customer only section of their website...

    MH Pulling out of BNE?

No doubt that you can frequently get cheap tickets with them on many of the long haul sectors, the lost flights last year and Air Asia created that pressure. But there are times you look to book with them and they are charging a hefty rate. For that KL to CDG leg - you can watch that...

    MH Pulling out of BNE?

I fly this route a few times a year and it is often well loaded so not sure the lack of profit is due to a shortage of passengers? The daytime only flights from KL to BNE do deter business travellers. I can see Sinagpore Air putting their prices up very quickly!

    Which wine cabinet?

I can't comment for the Hisense model you are talking about, but there are fundamental differences in the cooling technology between some of the lower spec/cost cabinets mentioned earlier and the Vintec/Transtherm designs. This is the main difference in cost. There is a bit of material on the...

A330 seat changes - the knee killers are gone?

Perhaps others have noticed but many of the A330's seem to no longer have the foot rests/knee killer in Y class any more with the newly trimmed seats? some relief at least for those of us who are taller than average!

MH flights - use QFF or Enrich membership?

Re the question of which card to credit mile too, this is a frequent problem I have with MH tickets. I book with QFF number and check in, once I see the confirmed ticket class I ask them to change to Enrich if its a non QF earner (sometimes gets unusual looks from check in staff). You can still...

    MH Waitlist times

I thought it would help others in the future if I updated what actually happened on this waitlist experience when upgrading using miles. I had many calls to Enrich to try and get unwaitlisted and all the operators gave different advice including: - try calling back in two weeks - try calling...

    MH Waitlist times

I have put in a request for an enrich redemption upgrade from economy to business on an upcoming trip (start of May) which has been put on a waitlist. Does anyone know how long MH take to review their waitlists? I have called them a few times but the call centre staff have no idea and just...

    Qantas results 28Aug .

That might let them buy a few more aircraft but I suspect an analysis of the accounts would find that the cash is allocated against fuel, redundancies, and existing aircraft purchase contracts. Probably not a war chest but a war lunch box.

    SIN lounge suggestions vs QF

That's a good call however that choice could be more complicated because QF has two beers on tap (Tiger and Heineken served in the proper dutch fashion) and from memory BA is all in cans with no option of London Pride if memory serves me correctly! QF also mix coughtails for people on request.

OW benefits on MH codeshare flights with non-OW metal?

I flew from Seoul to KL a few weeks ago on Korean Air and didn't get any benefits. No QF miles either so am now in the process of asking MAS to credit the miles against my Enrich account which they are slow to agree to. It seems a lot of economy booking classes don't earn QFF miles so apart...

    SIN lounge suggestions vs QF

I think BA might just have the edge on QF with wines on offer, generally from smaller producers with high quality. QF possibly better for food, showers are just about equal. Depending on the time of your flight, other lounges may not be open, ie MH which wouldn't normally be having departures at...
