Agent 009, FWIW, JohnK's response above is a good example of the value I get from these forums. It's nice to know that a Platinum level flyer (which mean a LOT of flying) still gets nervous, and I'm (or you) are not the only ones that get anxious about getting on a plane! Thanks JohnK!

Nah - I thought the bags marked 'First' and 'Priority' etc. were the ones that the handlers chucked in extra hard! Just like the golden rule of 'the more fragile stickers are put on your suitcase - the further it gets thrown/kicked/dragged/etc.'!

On more than a few occassions travelling Y class from Perth to Canberra, I've been given the yellow 'First' tags. Didn't make any difference to how quickly the bags appeared, although there's been lots of 'ooh' and 'ahhs' from visitors who've seen the tags (now stuck to my fridge)!

I agree with Chrisb and I wonder how many times other potentially serious incidents happen behind the scenes that pax are not told about? (Although as not the most confident flyer around, I think I'd be happy to be kept in the dark...pardon the pun in this particular case.)
