Hi guys, Just wanted to check in here - I hit Platinum with AAdvantage a couple of months ago but haven't yet received my new membership card. Can anyone give an indication of how long this typically takes? Wondering if it is time to phone them and see if it has got lost in the post! Cheers

Yes, this needs to happen, and soon. I booked PE return SYD to AUH and a business reward AUH to LHR for a trip coming up in February, as I cannot (will not!) fly in economy class on Etihad - they have by far the worst seats for someone my height I have ever encountered for a full service...

I can live without short-haul wifi (though it'd be a nice bonus) but this cannot come soon enough to VA's long haul. I've just landed back in Sydney this morning from LAX, and fly often to AUH with VA... those 13+ hour flights are where the real benefit will come for me.

Yeah, I appreciate the connectivity to Europe that the Etihad partnership provides - but the service extended to VA passengers by EY staff isn't the best. It's a real shame VA don't have a presence at AUH and use EY staff and gates. Perhaps this will come in time.

I fly to Adelaide on Tuesday from Sydney for work. Company policy is domestic travel is via Qantas, but I'm a VA Goldie and am hoping to put the Anytime Access to the test on Tuesday morning!

This route is my primary points earner for Velocity (three returns SYD -> LHR connecting VA to EY in AUH this year alone), and it's very hit and miss. Maybe half the time the points credit after a few weeks. The rest of the time I raise a retro claim, get told I credited to another FF program...

Thanks for the reply... I don't think it will really make a huge amount of difference either way. I have 11H for now. Will keep an eye on loadings and maybe switch up to row 10 if the cabin is looking full-ish, but in my experience there are rarely more than 10 PAX in Y+ on this route outside of...

Any comment on PE seating on VA's 773ER? I'm usually in row 11 on the assumption that bulkhead seating probably has less legroom. Right choice? Or am I better off in 10?

Thanks for the feedback, very prompt and informative :) Just want to check this as it sounds too good to be true - I'd have expected the airlines would frown on switching the FF number for an existing boarding pass. But if this is possible... then happy days :mrgreen:

Interesting... is it possible to credit miles/SCs to my QF FF account yet still flash my AA card and QF boarding pass for lounge access? If so that's perfect - i can run out the year of AA status while building SCs on Qantas. Cheers for the replies thus far.
