It has become that way in some lounges, however it was not that way originally. But for example, in LHR the correct credentials will elicit a glass of champagne rather than sparkling wine. Also a special menu is available for those who qualify.

Of course, there's the micro "lounge" of Qantas where First, CL & P1 get special treatment within a lounge where a mere basic WP or oneworld Emerald sitting beside them does not.

On a QF A330? I am only 183cm and actively avoid row 23 on that aircraft for flights over 3 hours. However, yes, the bulkheads have much more room for feet in business.

There would normally be a Qantas check in counter for Domestic Connections to International Flights at Brisbane Domestic. I recall you may need to check bags at lease an hour before your domestic flight to Sydney departs.
