Finally !! The unveiling of the J lounge for PER. Can't come soon enough IMO. Will anyone from here be attending the opening function?

Saw that yesterday and couldn't help wondering how the locals will react to FIFOs moving into the new Biz lounge. Might find sanctuary in the old lounge. I wonder if the 'local décor and colours' include hi-viz yellow and orange?

Unfortunately or fortunately a lot of the FIFO guys are Platinum so i am sure they will be there for the better food and drinks

I think the number of FIFOs into PER will see a decrease over the next 12 months.

Sure will, certainly decreased in the past 12 months.

I recall trying to get a minespec prado 12 months ago was near on impossible, go to PH, Newman there are a lot of rentals available.

I've always liked the Pinot Noir in MEL J.

I can tell you now: cr@p . DOM lounges, whatever the level, just don't cut it.

But I will be pleased to tell you about the offering in the SYD INT F lounge the following day as I await my SYD-DFW flight .

Only been in the regular lounge once of late, travelling solo so it didn't affect me - but I wonder if the J lounge will also have the 1 drink per person rule? Seemed to catch a lot of people off guard when I was there in June.

Ive noticed on alot of threads people are very against FIFO workers and essentially suggest that they dont belong in the lounges, FIFO workers are frequent flyers and belong in the lounge just as much as anyone else. If anything after a hard swing in tough conditions they deserve the lounge more then others who sit a cushy desk job.

i agree but I also know a lot of the east coasters that are FIFO in WA that don't do it tough at all. The guys I'm talking about are the truck drivers

If they want respect they need to consider others around them.

I shouldn't have to listen to their rude, loud conversations. I come into the lounge to relax to get away from the terminal. May as well stay out in the terminal if they are going to behave that way inside.

And yes I know most FIFO workers do not behave this way but I can almost guarantee if I see a group of FIFO workers in the lounge they will be extremely loud and rude.
