That means it makes more sense to pay for things under $100 with a 2% cashback HSBC Everyday Global card than on a 'rewarding' Qantas earning card for effectively 0.5-1.5%.

More reason to let the airline drive your loyalty, rather than your loyalty drive the airline...

Not sure I follow that?

If I’m only redeeming for CR or upgrades, any purchase earning at least 1:1 is fine by me.

My earning of QFFP excluding credits cards is already at the rate which exceeds my ability to find relevant Classic rewards or get successful upgrades - and I'm Platinum. It makes less financial sense to add to the pile with credit card spend when you can get a better return elsewhere.

Well done Qantas. More awful changes.

A simple SYD-BNE is now going to be 9,200 points + ~$60?

And a simple SYD-BKK is now going to be 36,2000 points + ~$160?

Harder and harder to earn points and now these increases on top to boot. Need to check how much BNE-BKK on JQ goes up.
