We have recently booked a Luxury Escapes package for Fiji in early 2022. Looking at the official fiji.travel government website there is a clear requirement for all international travellers coming in to have "medical travel insurance, with international coverage that covers COVID-19 before travelling. If you or a family member tests positive for COVID-19 during your stay, appropriate insurance will be needed to cover costs related to room relocation and booking extensions, rebooking airline tickets and any associated medical costs."
Now, I have spot checked a number of international travel insurers all of which state they do not cover losses incurred due to pandemic nor medical costs due to COVID-19. I would think, with travel beginning to open up, this will change in the future, but I'd like to take out a policy sooner rather than later in the event that something comes up prior to us departing.
I am curious to hear if anyone can recommend a particular insurer in the current climate?
