Yes, if I am in Melbourne... I tend to eat dinner [almost] every day, so happy to meet up whenever you are down

I have booked my airfare so it looks like I'll be in Melbourne on Mon 9th, and Tues 10th September. I will be attending a conference and staying at HOTP, and prefer not to eat dinner alone:shock: so am hoping to organise a dinner. I'm flexible for either the Monday or Tuesday but have a slight preference for the Monday 9th as the conference dinner (which is paid for but I hate going) is on the Tuesday night.

Who can make it? which night is better for you, and time? and venue suggestions please!!

Monday 9th is good. How about we go to China town and find a restaurant. This is what we did in March when a few of us got together. Found a great cheap place and had a great time.

Also it is close to HOTP and various train stations.

Little Malaysia Restaurant! is good and not expensive. The chilli prawns & calamari are hot !. Not 5 star but value for money. A walk through the park to the HTOP and 3 minutes from Parliament station.

But I have not seen you there in the 100 times I have been there [5 minutes from my work]
25 is big group for Little Malaysia. Monday will not be busy

Monday 9th looking good for most but will wait a few days in case there is a rush for Tuesday. I love Malaysian food so am very happy with the venue....I even spied chilli crab on the menu!!

When I have a better idea on numbers, I will make a booking ? 7pm or earlier. Also noted that BYO is a reasonable $5 per bottle.

Maybe 2½ from the station.

The Nasi Lemak special and the Roti Muthabak (set) were my staples... (I admit I have not been there this decade, but worked for 22 years within a 5 minute walk). The last time I had a Muthabak it had just gone up to 9.80 IIRC.

There is a bit of uncertainty at work as to what I will be doing beyond August, but at this stage, I plan to be in Melbourne then

I have not been to Little Malaysia, but might go check it out in the next few days
