Yes, all the rules apply, 15.6.1 reinforces that

".... less any applicable cancellation fee (or refund fee) set out in the Fare Conditions...." (Clause 15.6.1)

First Sale commercial fare rules (obtained today from QF site)

• For tickets issued on/before 03 December 2013 OR tickets issued on/after 04 December 2013 for travel on/before 15 February 2014

According to above, there is a distinction between a commercial F Sale & ASA fare rules (in my little example of after Feb 16th dates):

1) No refund for a F sale commercial fare, but

2) Full refund for an ASA (per 15.6.1)

To get a full refund for a commercial fare, one needs to buy a Full Flex F Fare (another few $$$)

e.g. SYD-LAX JASA I have seen permit only one stopover with service fee but no change fee for alterations. LAX-SYD was booked with unlimited stopovers and no change fees or service fees.

Just being a simpleton trying to understand a simple Q put forward by the OP: is FASA refundable ?

Yes, I do follow serfty's rule that every booking (and Markis10's rule that every city pairs) may have different rules.

The Q is then rephrased as: if the commercial fare rules for that route / city pairs on that date is XYZ, what would the fare rule for a FASA on the same flights be ?

Identical to the commercial rules or .... treated differently ?

If we could have a pointer there, the OP could look up the commercial rules of the route he is having in mind and weigh up his options *.

If not, in what way it will be different (as a FASA) ?

We dont know the answer because they are no longer online and visible. They used to map back to one of the commercial rules and you could easily bring them up. Now you have to ask each and every time.

IIRC, Red Roo did promise to take that issue back to Mascot - no online fare rules for MASA.

That was some time ago.

No such fare condition column !

Odd to allow some but not all routes, this IT team works in mysterious ways.

I have cancelled a number of JASA's recently and all were 100% refunded (even though the agent always said there would be a penalty). We are talking something like 6-8 JASA and 1 FASA that I cancelled.
