I have got seat 1A on an emirates A380. Anyone have any pro's or con's on this seat

The F "bar" is more like a water feature for the two spa suites at the front with some booze in a cupboard. There are no stools and nobody stands there except those waiting for a shower in my experience. The busy bar is the J bar, which F pax use, but even then it's in a section all by itself. 1A is fine. Any seat in F is fine. :)

Thanks Mel & Homer, I have been in F before but usually had either 3 or 4 and in the middle as have Mrs eric with me but this time I am travelling by myself and this is what was allocated so haven't looked to see if anything else is available yet but I was wondering why row 1 was given to me. Aren't the very front reserved for the top knobs or is that only QF

seat blocking varies by airline, and in first class it is not always for elites, but may be due to seats which are reserved for those with disabilities (so you might find some seats in row 2 of a 2-row F cabin are blocked for example).

generally speaking on a flight with 'through access' (ie anything but the 747 where there is no galley in front) it is always best to avoid the first and last row if possible. If there are only two rows, the second row is generally better (avoids galley light and noise).

Ok understood, I just had a look and on my flight every seat in F is available to me, doesn't mean no one else is there they just haven't done a seat allocation so I have taken note of what you have said and gone for row 3. At least with a QF flight number I can make use of SYD F lounge
