I asked this question within the Asia Miles section but thought Id get clarification here as well. I am quite new to this.

If I book a cathay flight using my Qantas FF i.e. Hong Kong Sydney. Does that seat come out of Cathay's Asia Miles bucket of reward seat availability? Reason why Im asking is that I am flying in a party of 4 (my family) and I ideally would like to get us all on the same flight in J. I have both Asia Miles and Qantas miles. Both programs show 2 seats available on the same flight. I cant seem to get more then 2 on either program. I might have to split us between two flights if they are actually the same two seats I am looking at. Or can I double dip with both programs?

Yes it does come out of the pool bucket.
