Diamond status "comped" for another year?

I've been gold / diamond with HH since 2008, initially via MVP fast track, then retained gold through stays, then VA status match plat benefit of Diamond which I activated in April 2012.But it was all due to come to an end this year, as I only had enough activity for silver in 2013.

When I log on to my account Today, I see the summary below. "2015 status is blue", which seems to suggest that my 2014 status will be diamond? Have I been comped another years diamond, or am I missing something?

As HH diamond came from the VA platinum benefit, just wondering if any others who activate in early 2012 have noticed anything similar?

Your 2013 status lasts until 30 March 2014. Your 2015 status is based on your stays from 01 Jan 2014. You may well have some Diamond status left until 30 March 2014 and nothing based on 2014 stays for 2015.

Well aware of that and have made multiple merge requests with no success.

Does anyone know of any current fast tracks or instant upgrades to HH gold? I was thinking I'd go for the milepoint premium membership to get HH Gold, but left it too long and they have sold out.

It it's possible it may well indeed be the case in what it displays.

However it is rather confusing and, IME, has been so for many a year.

The only constant is that ones membership card, if you actually get one, is indicative of reality.

I'm in the same boat. So you don't even get a soft landing to gold? You go straight to the bottom of the totem pole?

Soft landings are a feature more common with airline program's.

HHonors has no soft landing policy. You get the status according to the qualifying patronage or points in the previous calendar year.

I was about to book a bunch of nights at the Tropicana in LV (which includes buffet breakfast for diamonds). Might reassess that now...

Definitely no soft landing. One year I was only about 100 base points short of re qualifying Gold, and was dropped hard back down to Blue. I was, however, then able to speak to a HH supervisor who manually extended my Gold, so had a happy ending.

If you have a bunch of stays I would definitely be calling them about a fast track. You should definitely be able to get to gold and possibly even Diamond again depending on the travel plans.

This is odd. If you were only 100 base points off qualifying for Gold, then surely then you had a (re)qualification for Silver in the bag, so why did you drop down all the way......

Understandable - the bennies for Silver are not as nice as those for Gold.

Powervideo, if you are in the same boat as me then I've picked up from threads here that we can try to status match HH diamond to IHG Platinum while we still have it. And if you've dropped to SG with velocity, you can then opt in to HH gold.

All is not lost!
