Hi I'm looking at booking flights Sydney to Bangkok just wondering if anyone knew how many points it would cost me to upgrade from economy to business? Also what aircraft do qantas have on this route, whats is the business class like on these aircraft?

I also have a NAB gold credit card with free travel insurance does anyone know about this? Is it any good?

Thanks,

The aircraft is a 747 until end February then goes back to an A330.

To upgrade witb points you will need an upgradeable airfare but even then it is not guaranteed. Not worth an upgrade request on an A330 unless you have points to throw away.

Actually the 747 service ends on Jan 31.
I believe it's 40,000pts for an upgrade.

What's the difference considering that QF are using 747's with the angled Skybeds most of the time on that route?

J seats sold as PE and PE sold as Y.

I was referring to the comment that the 330's have an inferior product to the 747's. Whilst this may be true for the 9 refurbed jumbos, the rest still feature the much loathed angled skybed...

Fair enough, I missed that bit.

Why am I confused?

QF6 is an A332 on 01 March! It was a 747 when I booked it and I am not happy.

I thought QF5/6 was an A330 a couple of days per week even when it is normally a 747 route?
