Hi all

I booked an ASA back in Nov 13, I was sooooo shocked @ the price I snapped it up straight away.

What i didn't realise at the time was I had the WRONG DATE!!!

I snapped up a business seat which i believe is U on QF108 NY>SYD with a stopover in LAX.

Does anyone know if I call up, will I be able to take a few days stopover in LA? I wouldn't mind paying a resonable fee to be able to this!

Thanks everyone

You will need to find U availability (just search for a classic business seat) on the LAX-SYD sector on the day you want to fly out, but if there is some inventory available, you should be able to add a stopover at a cost of the tax difference, but it does depend on the actual fare conditions, which are impossible to find post-booking.

Oh, edit: you also need to find individual sector availability for the JFK-LAX sector, as this has been a sticking point in the past. You can't assume that your current U seat is available as two different sectors (most often, it is not).

I tried to do a stopover on a FASA SYD-LHR (stop in DXB) and while there was DXB-LHR availability, I couldn't get SYD-DXB :(

Yep, JFK-SYD booked as a single segment is different from booking JFK-LAX-SYD.

However, it may still be possible. Firstly check the fare rules by clicking "Business" (the one under "Fare Conditions", not the one beside "Travel Class".

The pop-up should indicate whether stopovers are permitted. (Generally ex USA is fine, ex not so for OZ bookings).

Then as indicated you need to find U class on the JFK-LAX and LAX-SYD segments on the dates you are wish to change to.
