Maybe QF need to look at other services that they thought would not have demand - like day flights ex Asia!

Qantas has today launched its new Perth-Auckland service that will operate during the holiday season with a twice-weekly A330 service, adding almost 1,000 seats per week over the busy Christmas and summer holiday period. The aircraft will be an internationally configured A330 with Skybeds in Business.
The majority of customers who have booked on these services are travelling from Perth or Auckland, set to enjoy the convenience of a direct service to be with family and friends over the holiday period.
Chief Executive Officer Qantas International Mr Simon Hickey said “Demand for the direct services has exceeded our expectations, and we’re seeing a mix of customers including connections to the service from the Middle East. There is also strong support of the services from our frequent flyers through redemption bookings on the services.”
