I cannot see the relevance of past problems with the A380 and Qantas retrenching 1000 staff to an unruly passenger on the flght.

It's purely a media beat-up. QF has bad press right now for other reasons. It simply adds fuel to the fire.

Since when have the media let the facts get in the way of a good sensationalistic story?

theres no curfew at heathrow per se just restrictions on what types of aircraft can operate late at night. i imagine the 380 is classed as quiet enough to be able to operate around the clock into LHR

News have changed to generic file tail photo to what looks like the tail of a B747......

Still its an improvement on the previous photo of a "2 engined A380".

yeah this is not an A380 'incident' really. Silly bit of journalism comparing it to an A380 mechanical fault but anyway, that's what we have come to expect from media organisations.

Seen as how the owner / editor (delete as required) has probably been denied an upgrade at some stage and now has a grudge against QF, it's not surprising to see some of these incidents pop up in the media.

Looking closely at the rego under the port wing of the aircraft in the pic you can see that it's VH-OGM which for the uninitiated (No News that's you) is actually a Boeing 767-300.

Yes this isn't a media story if it was any other airline.

But lets focus on the story itself - this passenger has cost the airline a lot of money and disrupted over 450 passengers. Throw the book at him.
