QF club lounge observations

The thing I find infuriating in the J lounges is sometimes there is someone to make you a coffee and sometimes you just have to get the awful automatic machine stuff.

Barista service is until 3pm in J lounges.
I agree the automatic machine coffee is bad.

Anyway, once the alcohol is out I forget all about the coffee :)

Be nice if one could go and make a real club sandwich, no fancy breads needed just the normal type.

To be fair when the QP opened at the new terminal in Adelaide it was far and away the best QP in Australia - it's only fallen behind slightly since the DOM J lounges opened.

Maybe, that's because it was a new building. The food offerings are not much chop. We usually eat at the cafe's if we are flying at meal times.

For me, being in a J lounge, or even QP is a priveledge and I am happy just to be able to go there. I am sorry but I dont complain or moan about anything which I am given over and above my flight.

Remember nothing is free but the air that you breathe, the rest is included in your ticket price ;)

I think the food in the J lounge improved a lot during the last few years and one of the reasons is customers feedbacks.

In a way you could argue that it is free, if you have gained access via status, whilst you may have flown more than the average pax you have not spent a single cent more than them for the same flights.

Purchase QP membership is slightly different in that there you have in fact purchased the food in the same fashion that you purchase food at a buffet...

I meant that QF & VA are covering their lounge costs in the ticket price.
Same goes for the "free" meal you get on board.

I pay a few hundred dollars for QP membership in addition to paying for flights. I'm sure I'm not alone. In which case, any reasonable complaints are quite valid thanks.

Even on J or WP level there is no Business club in Adelaide. Not a lot of love there.

simple solution..if you think you are not getting 'value for money'...cancel your membership..you chose to 'pay a few hundred dollars'..you can choose to opt out/not renew your membership if it doesn't/no longer suits your 'needs'...and consequently leave me in peace to enjoy my QC experience ...as it offers me more positives than negatives when i visit..and IF the time comes that QC membership no longer offers ME 'value for money'...i will not renew my membership!! problem solved..TA DAH!!

If every business had that mindset then they would go out of business. A business that does not want to improve customer relations doesn't deserve to be a business.

If I dont like my job...I will leave it.
If I dont like the street I live in...I will sell and buy somewhere else
If I get the Poo's with the barmaid...I will drink somewhere else
Crikey, If my wife Peeve's me off...I will get a new one (been there done that)
Dont like the service from the QC...I wont go there

Please....nobody forward this on to my wife

If I've missed my 3pm coffee - usually because I've been jumping into a cab to get to the airport between 3 and 4 - I need my fix by the time I get to the airport.

At MEL, I've never failed to receive a barista-made coffee when requesting after 3pm and the person is serving the alcohol ... they're usually happy to make me a coffee when they are otherwise just standing around (prior to 4:30pm I've never seen the MEL J Lounge too busy ... even with all the current interlopers from the CL).

Regards,

BD

Actually with limited exception most businesses is in there to make maximum profit for the business. Often customer relations is something which is optional and only included if the business feels there is profit in doing so.

While it may be "simple" for those who choose to pay for Qantas Club membership, it's a different story for those who achieve access through status.

Some choose to try and deal with their issues.

Each to their own I guess...

A couple of those are not so easy after your 50th birthday!

No it's not, if you don't like going to the lounges no one is forcing you to go there. There is (often) a world outside the lounge called the airport terminal... This mystical place often has a wide selection of food and beverages which can be purchased (at often heavily inflated price).

Status is not purchased, a WP and a NB will pay exactly the same amount for a trip from A to B in the same fare class, the lounges is just a little extra that airlines offer to those who fly with them more frequently than most, attendance is not mandatory.
