Hotel is located for relatively easy access to the main station but is not great for the old town. It is very much on the edge and a 30 minute walk from the Charles Bridge. Hilton Old Town is a bit closer in to the action. Hotel is large conference/corporate venue with not a lot of charm on first appearance. Water, internet, three bottles of beer and a jar or rollmops on arrival. The room was a reasonable size with a decent view (7th floor) and good bathroom. Separate shower. Good bed. Best feature was the executive lounge at least for breakfast and afternoon tea. We were told that breakfast could only be taken in the lounge, not the restaurant, but that was no hardship as the spread was excellent. There was also a comprehensive cooked items menu. Afternoon teas were cake heaven. The evening spread was, on the other hand, very poor. All it consisted of were two hot items (mini pizzas and samosas) then peanuts and crisps. Booze was generous though with spirits available 6 to 8.30 pm then wine and beer until 11.00pm. All up, good hotel but I'd think about it twice if visiting again as a tourist because of the location.

2 nights into a 5 night stay at cairns Hilton and everything has been very good. Water in the room, free internet, and Anne back in the lounge. She is really switched on. Great at remembering names and what sort of coffee you have with breakfast!

Turtlemichael, was this (Japanese) lass still there (in Prague Exec Lounge):

Property: Conrad Hong Kong
Date: Oct 31-Nov 02
Rate: Govt 2450+ HKD
Room Booked: Standard King
Room Received: Executive Harbour King Suite

This is our 4th or 5th stay at the Conrad and the first time we have received such a great upgrade. Being a short stay probably helped. Previous upgrades have been to an Executive King which i like anyway. The suite, xx13, has all facilities and fantastic views across the harbour. Benefits were loads of water, chinese tea on arrival, numerous welcome letters, a dozen chocolates and tarts replaced each day  and a bowl of fruit. These are most probably the suite benefits rather than HHD staus benefits. The suite is large, conservatively stylish and well maintained. All up, the best room I've had in the Hilton chain. We ate breakfast at the lounge (I didn't ask but I think the restaurant option may have disappeared) and it continues to be very good. Afternoon tea and evening refreshements were equally top standard. Spirits had to be requested and weren't on display or offered. The lounge was at times very busy and while I like the refurbishment, it is cramped and awkward when busy. The staff, particularly Yoda, continue to be excellent. This was the last stop on a 15 week trip and thus a great finish. It continues ti be my favourite hotel and this was the best stay at any Hilton family property.

Date: 1/2Nov
Room Booked: Standard room
Room Received: Paid for Nor1 upgrade to Relaxation suite

Started off well, lounge wasn't packed so we had some drinks and prawns were still on offer, headed down to crank up the spa and watch Serangoon Rd on ABC whilst relaxing. Not a great success, spa made noise but no bubbles and Telly had sbs tuned in three times and a sport channel also tuned in three times, pulled the plug on it all and watched from bed. Reported it next morning and they said housekeeping would check it out, we were at a wedding Sat arvo so no chance to see if it had been repaired. Checked out from Exec Lounge and was advised 20% discount for both nights would apply so paid 386.20 per night in the end. Hope next stay there for four nights in Dec is better.

Out of curiosity, did the 20% discount also apply to the NOR1 cost?

Property: Conrad Singapore
Date: 1 x 1 night stays, 2 x 2 night stays
Room Booked: 1 King Bed Classic
Room Received: 1 King Bed Executive (31st floor every time)

As per most reports on here, just the 1 level upgrade given
! Service always perfect here, breakfast either downstairs or in the lounge. At least I have always ended up on the 31st floor, but was really hoping for a better upgrade. I have a few most stays before years end, but I won't hold my breath for anything extra!

I am Hilton Gold and have had a few stays this year, but have never seen anything like the below message in a booking confirmation email.
Didn’t request any NOR1 upgrades.
Is this unusual, or specific to certain Hotels. This came from the Adelaide Hilton

You will find out if you are upgraded when you arrive at the hotel.
If you are upgraded you will be charged the additional nightly fee shown below for your new room type.

Well they tried to treat me as a Lowly pleb but this changed after a curt letter to the manager. Got upgraded to the king suite on high floor of the Hilton on George Street. Happy to say manager is German and knows about quality care. Good outcome but required a lot of effort as the original room was substandard.

our company now insists on bookings via carlson wagonlit - if i book via our intranet site and not hilton.com, will I receive any gold benefits?
