I think Alanslegal and Laurie Oaks for that matter, are disappointed that the PM is not responding to questions from the press. Assuming that these questions are appropriate this is a fair position for Laurie and Alan to take IMO. The PM and his Ministers should, and will be held to account in the court of public opinion, if they don't want to join in the conversation then we will form our own perhaps uninformed opinions.

My concern in all of this is, how bad are things going to get before there is a serious leak and the Government is destablised.

And a former political appointee writing a negative piece in the media about the opposite party. yawn, move on.

I do note that you have not taken issue with the content of the article, meerly the author.

Actually only have to wait until I am 59!

Enough of the hypotheticals! Will I still be around at 59 to enjoy the fruits of my labour and more importantly if I am around is it still going to be there for me to enjoy?

Kevin Rudd used Laurie Oakes with his leaks.Poor Laurie isn't being drip fed any more and is having withdrawal symptoms.

Indonesia.The journos are making things up.Indonesia's relationship with Australia was fractured with the live export ban.tony had no part in that.
And of course the boats.The Indonesian navy has taken on board at least 2 boatloads of people from the Australian Navy since TA was elected.The Indonesian government has volunteered to divert some of it's naval force to police it's Southern waters where the boats set out for Christmas Island.Several in the people smuggling trade have been arrested in Indonesia.And the boat arrivals have plummeted from over 2000 a month in the last year to 339 for October.

So if the ALP and journos are going to call that a diplomatic failure then sure the Abbott Government is going to be a disaster.But the average voter is going to love it so he could even see an increase in his majority next time.

Now now, the Ab-inator has said power will fall 9% and gas 7%.

Still that is a far cry for the 50 to 100% Abbott previously claimed was added by the carbon tax. I think Abbott owes me more than 9%! Or perhaps he lied. Of course the Abs-lovers will never accept the blindingly obvious truth of his lying.

It is obvious that Abbott has given the Chinese hand over us in negotiating a trade agreement. Even I can see that It is stupid to side with either Japan or China in their dispute.

There are reports that I have read where Coalition ministers are forbidden, yes forbidden, to talk to the media unless prior approval is given by the PM's Office so now its why I get highly skeptical. Tony promised transparency and accountability and blanket banning ministers not to talk, that's not transparent. Ministers not responding to questions and enquiries, even if only some parts of these claims are true, then its concerning. Sounds a bit like North Korea.

Tony was a media warrior prior to the election, jumping up and down, yelling and screaming, driving a truck, running around in his budgie smugglers using taxpayers money and then claiming Whyalla would be annihilated off the Australian map..... well, look at it now ..... I wonder where he is? Is he browsing on www.boatsales.com.id buying boats from Indonesian smugglers? Or is he holed up in Scott Morrison's office trying to work out how to hide the boat numbers arriving? Is he dining with Rupert Murdoch and working out a cross media reform deal? Who knows? Whatever it is, I hope its "official duties" as I don't want him to be at a mid-week friend's wedding at our $$

Preservation age is only the age you can access super. It has nothing to do with getting it tax free. Everyone has I wait until 60 to withdraw super tax free. Take it out at 59 and you have to pay tax.

That isn't the age when you can draw down a no tax lump sum payment. That's the age when you can start withdrawing a pension of between 3 and 10% but it is still taxed at 15% (used to be called a transition to retirement). Remember Johnk that I am a couple of years older than you and already on the journey. . Unless of course you have decided to permanently retire, ie, not work again. But you really need to know the money will last and I know I could never live as I want to on a pension, which doesn't kick in anyway until 65 years old, plus!

So who is going to pay for the prisons? Because you don't feel the need to pay for them. You're also missing the point that to get into prison, someone would have to hit you on the head and steal your money to be placed there. You seriously have trouble with thought puzzles don't you? Did you miss the reference to Dickensian society, where the poor got nothing unless they took it. That is the proposal that I was addressing. There are no jobs, take many areas in Australia with 20%+ youth unemployment.

I sure as ****e did not suggest it was ok to go on the rob. Simply acknowledging the fact that giving people, poor people welfare reduces crime. The fact that you think I did contrary to the context of the in going series of posts (that stuff about building gaols and such) demonstrates why there if absolutely no point read your posts. Your suggestion that I condone crime is insulting and ludicrous for completely missing the point.

So I have misunderstood. Apologies. Now instead of 2023 I need to wait until 2024 to get the full benefit of the fruits of my labour.

I have had enough of work. I am very tired and need ~12-18 months off and then reconsider my decision. The only benefit of working now is travelling to Thailand regularly and keeping myself away from my savings. Although the need to travel to Thailand may change in the near future.
