Looking nice and bright (schön und hell) in SYD today...and looking forward to daylight saving time kicking in next Sunday, 06 October.

I'm not looking forward for the '3.5 hours' flights from BNE to MEL :(

Ugh, the time of year some channels present programs at the same time, while others become an hour earlier (to me), completely messing with my mind. Why wont QLD get on the bandwagon again? Something about cows and curtains?

I imagine the training requirements to teach them how to change their clocks would be huge.

I was in WA when they had an experiment with daylight savings and there were ads on newspapers and television telling residents how to change the clocks. Fair dinkum it made them look stupid.

Will the Sydney airport curfew time change? It is difficult for Perth fliers.
I find it easier to avoid Sydney for international flights.

Yes it will move by 1 hour in relation to Qld, nt and wa.

no way !!!!!!

I cant afford the repaint on the unit when it fades with the extra hour of sunlight !!!!!

Worse when you are communicating regularly with offices in, say, Canada who are come off daylight saving in November. Somebody (depending who is the subordinate) gets inconvenienced when the times shift net 2 hours.

I regularly record nfl on mondays.

in a week the times will change by an hour, and a further hour in another week or 3

It would be wonderful if QLD could enter the time zone:(

I am glad we don't get it.

The car would fade so much quicker and the curtains would also fade as well.

Totally agree with that.
I have fond memories of surfing at Collaroy after work with my mates, and then hit the Beach club for a few refreshing beverages

Excellent.

The sooner the rest of Australia moves into the 21st Century the better....

Could you get NSW and Victoria to have the same time slot as New Zealand so the countries become one.

Or aligned to the equinoxes...

That would not be too bad. At least guaranteed 6 months of extra evening daylight.

Europe IIRC has daylight savings from March to end of September. Close to 7 months of daylight.

Why not have it all year round? Sunlight is wasted at 7:30am in winter.

I thought about that too, but Russia trialled it and it was according to the media an utter disaster.

On the other hand, the whole of China has one time zone, meaning those in the west of china start work in utter darkness in winter.
