re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

The ice hockey community via a social media campaign got their organisation to reverse a ban on live streams of ice hockey matches after foxtel advised them to stop showing the streams so foxtel could increase the ratings of their delayed telecasts.
The QF group could take a page out of Australian Ice Hockey League and do they own reversal in relations to the cheap ASA's!

The tight-knit Australian Ice Hockey League community has ridden a wild social media rollercoaster on the eve of its eagerly anticipated finals series, after the league banned internet live-streams of those games, then overturned the decision after passionate protests from fans.
On Wednesday, it was announced that that the league would block live coverage of its two semi-finals and grand final on September 7/8, in a bid to maximise ratings of match replays on Fox Sports. In the extraordinary 24 hours that followed, people power, voiced on Twitter and Facebook, was so extensive and powerful that league commissioners re-convened the clubs, at 10.30 on Thursday night, and the original vote was reversed. The decision to allow livestreams of all finals was announced on social media near midnight Thursday, to immediate acclaim from some of the biggest critics of the original ban.

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

Hi all,

can I change the name on a booking and then book another ticket with my name? Want to make use of double status credits.

also, what is the wording required for an ASA in economy?

cheers guys

So i called to convert to mASA from classic and the operator was adamant that it can't be done. Its basically cancel then rebook. Strictly that's how it is, hence running the risk of losing the classic seats. Oh well......

Not strictly at all...

You simply scored a lazy CSA.

A good one would hold the Reward "fare bucket" and re-issue the ticket. It can be done in a very strait forward manner as it is the same fare family.

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

Perhaps i should try my luck again?

I always find it hard to strike the right balance between being nice and telling them how do something.....

Btw can awards ever be releases as masa?

No, odd anecdote here and there but not technically possible. Can request Classic Award release only.

Its a very poor showing after couple months putting customers through the ringer and taking pot luck to get an operator who knows the ropes, totally ridiculous yet not a word from Q.

BRING ASA's BACK ON LINE PLEASE!

I guess QFF want it to all fade away, it won't, I don't give up easily.

and.. I'm not a kid who lost his toy like one other suggested, someone who likes convenience and able to book ASA's online like we did all these years, not put through a complicated process. We have an official rep here Red Roo but not one word, how about a yes, no or I don't know but will find out about our loved ASA's.

I hope I'm wrong but I think you have answered your own question with "QFF want it all to fade away".
We managed before ASA's and I'm sure we'll find a way to manage again be it with QF or AAnother program.

I think the bottom line is that QF have decided that they don't wish to create/ sustain any more JASA/FASA status holders SG/WP/P1

It certainly is a delicate balance in empowering the CSA's to make the changes you want rather than telling them what to do. :p

I'd just like them to be upfront about it.

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

Another couple of wins in the last week...
Had some JASA's that I booked earlier this year for travel Sep/Oct - a MEL-CNS return and a SYD-MEL 1 way. Cancelled them both for full points/$$ refund and re-booked the same route so it's ticketed after my Double SC promo date - that's an extra 280 SC for a bit of time on the phone and no extra fun tickets :)
Better still, just booked HBA-CNS-HBA JASA thanks to a very helpful operator (Sangaatha in the Hobart call centre). $590 & 72000 points later and its a tidy 640 SC earner - very happy with that, especially considering they only pinged me for the classic award HBA-CNS despite me going up via SYD/BNE and back via BNE/MEL :)
Now looking way past just my annual WP target as I figured I want to hit my LTG (getting towards 90%) soon as poss with the likely chances of nice ASA earners vanishing for good.

Red Roo is usually only visible when there are some sweeties to give out or some (rare) good news. The fact that Red Roo is missing in action again ... well .. I'm drawing my own conclusion on that!

i don't agree. Red Roo rapidly addressed an issue I've posted on the forum. I'd rate his/their performance significantly better than the VA rep.

I am, however, sad that MASAs will most likely fade away over time. For me, MASAs helped offset VA's family pooling when comparing the FF programs.

Yes, sorry, I agree with you there. Red Roo does solve pax issues quickly and pro-actively.
