With all respect, So by being a member of Air Berlin FF I can earn miles and STATUS miles flying on Ethiad that will accrue towards achieveing OWE? Ethiad obviously are not One World therefore I would suggest that this argument or assumption may not hold.

You're right. i was speculating.

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

I disagree. It's simpler, has the choice of searching for all flights via the one interface. This is a good thing ultimately for customers as a whole, even if it impacts us that knew how to get value out of the old system.

The new interface also means that folk will struggle to argue that they didn't know they were booking Jetstar! It makes it pretty clear.

My only real gripe with it, is the amount of space it takes up (but then I guess that's the price of making things clearer)

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

Actually rather than bring back ASA's I'd prefer them to offer Status credits on all award bookings. Problem solved then..

Not a bad idea but it could be like booking Jetstar flights....doyou want to earn S/C and points on that ticket or not and priced accordingly.

would be dead easy tick the box to either earn or not earn points and status credits....how easy would that be ?

From the Air Berlin Topbonus Pages on Ethiad Earn and Burn rates

Earn up to 250% of the actually flown miles on Etihad Airways as topbonus award and status miles
Redeem your miles and book your Etihad Airways award flight from 20,000 topbonus award miles
topbonus Silver, Gold and Platinum Card holders can additionally enjoy status benefits such as Priority Check-in or additional luggage allowance on all Etihad Airways flights

Maybe its to do with the part ownership of AB by EY. Similar to how one can earn SCs on FJ.

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

Because they don't fit in with their new simplified booking system. People understood the old system very badly (outside of this forum).

Yes! I wonder if (M)ASA removal is merely a side effect, rather than the main game. I know it's been suggested before.

But you can pay extra to get points & SC

not saying make Qantas a LCC but the redemption of seats could work in that fashion of choose to have or not have SC & points

Just hold up a second there. nlagalle did not say anything about earning points on award bookings. I've also mentioned this idea, and I think that my/our ideas are similar. That Status Credits only should be earned on QFF awards (on QF flights - IMO). Points earning has obviously contributed to the current action against ASAs in classic fare buckets. Points earning was always a strange inclusion for ASAs. However, SC are about recognising loyalty to the airline, as such there is a pretty strong argument that all support of the airline should be recognised with SCs (only). If the standard SC are deemed too expensive for classic awards, hard to see this being the case give all the co-payments required, then a lower level of SC could be awarded. For example a fixed number per booking for each fare category regardless of segment length. Y/Y+/J/F earning 10/20/40/80 whether SYD-CBR or SYD-LHR. Or they could give half SC. Or they could, and should, just give full SC earn for classic awards - but no points.

All of these ideas are a much more refined response to the fact that Qantas seem to have finally woken up to the fact that they Stuffed up in giving points and SC for ASA. Certainly more refined than the BS they're spinning now.

With respect, Etihad have a financial interest in Air Berlin.
QFF's can earn SC's on FJ even though they are not part of OW.
So whilst it is true for the majority of times, there are times where it isn't true.

Regarding the QF and EK deal, it was stipulated very early on in the piece that it was points only for the EK flights. It was wishful thinking from people who creating the conjecture about earning SC's on EK

I guess QFF members are not the only ones having problems with their Frequent Flyer program.

Why don't they fit in with the new simplified booking system? I can book an expensive any seat award/points plus pay whatever you want to call it today but it is purposely excluding the classic award buckets.

Well robw0910 if you had ever wondered who did poorly at arithmetic in school the couple flying to Singapore on Kris miles really won the double prize. They were lucky to get a helping hand.

you earn SC's if using the QF codeshare , so technically not flying oneworld but getting oneworld status

If you are referring to FJ, you can earn SC's on an FJ flight number according to the QFF earning table...

I would sugest NOPE it seems a number of people are having issues with the new website in terms of functionality and navigation. Such as going round and round in circles if you try and book an award via the award tab :D
