DWF? is that an airport code? DFW (as in Dallas Forth Worth?)

Correct ..... It is being reported that the current V.A. Chief Op. Officer 'Sean Donohue' has been appointed the new C.E.O. of Dallas Fort Worth A/P. He's expected to take over in Oct.

I'm thinking he may have been pushed out the door or he was expecting it.
He was hired to bring VA's operational standard up to and above that of qantas. Look at the latest on time figures and its looking like he didn't perform to what was expected.

Ooooo, that's cruel. What happened to the old addage the buck stops at the top? VA for at least 12 months by now, have been on a slippery downhill slope. The disgusting treatment of previous loyal flyers was "just business" according to some of the high tier VA/VFF clowns (comment removed), but in all honesty, alienating your best clients is nothing more than bad business and since the Sabre (lack of) implementation, they have progressed merrily from a slippery downhill slope, to sheer cliff face. The safety net has gone with them, and they seem (from recent conversations) to believe that all Sabre using airlines have equal or more issues than VA, so that's acceptable and OK.

No it's not. JB is the man at the top and his flashy smile is tarnishing. I don't for one minute doubt he's a clever guy, but being clever does not necessarily transition into ability to make ideas a reality.

VA have lots of good ideas......a couple of really good ideas.......a history of stuffing up even trials of good ideas.........and lots of absolute failures to implement potentially good ideas. Maybe it's time JB and that other Velocity clown (comment removed)) needs to stop blaming others and start getting things that they promised, to work!

Being an American he probably just wants to get closer to his family etc..
Being a non citizen in Australia has serious tax implications - tax liability after a few years. Very few people from USA stay longer 4.5 years, unless at they commit 100% to Oz and take out citizenship (and pay more tax) or have very few assets in the USA.
