Hi Been looking at flights on Expedia br and found London - Melbpurne for around $4500n AUD or MEL-LHR for around $6271 AUD in Business with all flights falling into I class.

Looking at booking some flights for Mrs Ansett and I and thinking perhaps upgrade the good lady to F for a change :D

so at long last to the point are I class business class fares upgradeable either LHR-MEL or MEL-LHR as I am aware different fare conditions apply from different locations

Thank you :D

I class fares can be upgraded but I noticed this am that the ex-UK prices on QF website for "Exclusive Business" state that they are not able to be upgraded. This may be a website hangover (the .au website used to say similar IIRC).
Also noted that no booking changes are permitted whatsoever on the ex-UK flights.

All QF Business fares are eligible for upgrade to First...on a QF operated flight with a QF flight number of course. :)

This is my concern if I book LON-MEL in Business that we may not be able to upgrade

Generally the pop-up fare rules, like the ones that you have posted above, are wrong ;)

Definately helped me with a refund a while back ;)

Hi Red Roo

With all due repsect you may want to check before making a blanket statement .

I am happy to confirm that there is no such restriction on this fare. Our UK team are in the process of updating the online guide to reflect this. All other fare rules are correct. Apologies for any confusion; you can book with confidence and register for an Award upgrade as per the usual conditions.

It has long been noted on AFF that www.qantas.com has a bug which rejects as being ineligible online requests to register I class bookings for upgrades to First.

This issue is simply got around by calling QFF and submitting the upgrade request over the telephone.

Our Reservations team are happy to assist with such requests, fee free! :)

FEE FREE is this an enhancement and if so can we see more positive enhancements like this LOL :D

Sorry couldnt resist :D

Ok,
I have just successfully registered online for an I class upgrade to F on an ex-UK booking :D
Fingers crossed it comes through
LHR-DXB-MEL :)
