No (cheap) JASA to DXB for same flights that have classic awards?

Perhaps this is one for Red Roo. Was doing a search for random dates this morning.

On 5 August for example, there is a classic award seat SYD-MEL-DXB in J (involving QF9).

But the ASA points required for these exact same flights is ridiculously high....

Any thoughts? (Have pictures but unfortunately they are not uploading this morning!)

I've seen this happen before on international routes. The presence of a classic awards, does not always mean a cheap JASA!
