And yes, on Thai in J last year i also had garlic bread offered to me for the first time on a flight, nice little different option....
I prefer the garlic bread when offered. I have seen it on CX, MH, VS recently.

Has this thread risen as far as it can..??? time to punch it down methinks, we knead a change . . . far too much gas..!!! ;)

Seriously who enjoys sourdough bread?

- The crust is impossible to bite off and chew.
- When spreading butter with a knife, it creates huge holes in the bread.
- 1 slice is too small to enjoy with a poached or fried egg.

Other airlines don't use sourdough and it's just QF from my experience....?

There is no alternative in the First Class lounge or in Business on board.
First class sometimes has had stocked $2/loaf Coles bread which is perfect

Who else shares the sourdough pain?

I hear and share your pain, I just so no when I am offered the sourdough and the FA always seems startled when I refuse it.

Another sour dough fan.

How to eat you ask... Tear off a small piece then butter or dip into olive oil and balsamic vinegar (my favourite). Place small piece in mouth and chew = no broken teeth.

Had Rye tonight. Might as well have been sourdough. How do they manage to get the crust both rock hard and have the consistency of rubber? Truly a miracle.

They should take some pointers from the Germans. They have the best bread in the world, hands down.

When I was in Berlin. A choice of breads like this awaited me everyday.

Baked fresh and still warm. Yummy!!!
