Hi Just wondering what are the best Virgin J window seats for a couple on the A330 Melb - Perth? havent flown this bird yet!!

This probaly is not a lot of help, but I was looking at taking the same flight a while back and recall that I found on a thread 1A & 1C where good, however would be also interested to hear from anyone who flys in J on the 330.

1A & C are good on the new birds (XFC, D & E), but on the ex EK birds has reduced legroom.

I'm a 2A man myself.

Thanks how can I determine if I am a new bird or the old EX Bird? am flying Melb - Perth Return

The new ones will be 2-2-2 whereas the old will show up as 2-3-2.

I find row 2 to be better than row 1 on the new birds as you get more storage space and the screens are at a better angle. Any less leg room is negligible unless you are 7+ feet tall.

Flew on a new one last night MEL-PER and while I wasn't taking particular notice (I was in 2D) they seem to be much of a muchness, though I agree with pat25d about row 2 better than row 1. Storage space, and the movie screen looks a little further away on the bulkhead wall.
