It will be a QF flight number (EK metal) which will - on what we were told so far - generate SCs & QFF points.

QF flight number will help, however nothing has been published that can be relied on at this stage, in fact the mention of SC earn has been surprisingly scarce, hopefully we will have a resolution soon.

It is helpful to be vigilant and alert like you, markis10.

Expectations are sometimes not met.

FWIW, SC's (except for a few codeshares on JQ metal) are currently earned on all QF flight number in booking classes eligible for QFF point earning.

Moreover, I would believe a post of red roo, being from an account of an "Authenticated Company Rep" can be relied upon:
Hi everyone,

Wow, lots of comments to read through! Just to answer a few of your questions
While a lot of work has been done and a lot worked out already, it is a big partnership and there are still a few elements the team are working on to finalise things.

- Qantas will contact you to discuss options if you have a flight affected by the changes. We will do this well before your travel date.
- We will load schedules, fares and inventory as soon as we are able. As soon as they are in, you will be able to make Classic Award bookings
- As with all our partners, you will earn SC as long as booked on QF flight numbers

Any particular questions, I am around to answer.

Cheers,
Red Roo

This is what is on QF website this morning (4th Feb 2013):

"...For travel on/after 31 March 2013, Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points and Status Credits on all Qantas (QF) marketed flights that are operated by Emirates (EK) irrespective of when the booking was created. To earn points and Status credits your ticket must have the Qantas (QF) flight number. Visit qantas.com/earningpoints and qantas.com/statuscredits for more information on earning on Qantas.Further details in relation to the frequent flyer aspects of the partnership including earning and using Qantas Frequent Flyer points, benefits, recognition and lounge access) will be made available soon...." (my emphasis)

I had captured the screen as "insurance".

I think the SIN lounge situation, BA galleries debacle and priority boarding are examples why I have become more sceptical lately, good examples of flip flop management leaving staff making statements that are later proven to be different to reality through no fault of their own. While I expect the trend for QF flight numbers to be SC earning, I am not relying on past trends as a indicator of future performance when it comes to QF by any means.

Fair enough, but the quoted post is specific to codeshares relating to the EK / QF alliance with QF flight numbers.

I am thinking to not give SC's on such flights would be a costly move for QF - and management are fully aware of that.

Good call legroom - please get back to us if you ever do need to use or argue about this "insurance" - screen capture is my friend as well.
