It might need a new thread. But what other " exotic " collections are out there?

Interesting thing to collect though.

Mind you has anyone heard of PLAQUEMUSEPHILIA ?

I started by accident one day, was lunching at Montrachet in Brisbane, noticed on wall near back entrance a glass front display box on the wall, full of different champagne lids ( tin caps). Looked really good. Some am hooked. A good way to force yourself to explore different champagnes. I now have an ice cream container full. ( plenty of duplicates) ! Just haven't found the best looking display box, to quote Daryl Kerrigan, when I do, it will " Go straight to the pool room" 

I'm a bit late to this discussion - or at least to the diversion to Champagne caps. [Spoon collecting, I left to my grandmother but I'm certain that none of hers were stolen. Certainly not from an airline, as she never did set foot on a plane - or in an airline lounge - in her ninety year life.]

However, I do have some hundreds of Champagne caps, which I took to when it became too much of an effort to continue to collect Champagne labels. Much easier to extract the caps and keep them in good order than to soak off labels or use any of the patent methods for removing them.

My collected caps are all from bottles that I have personally consumed - not alone, I should add. I don't collect caps from other sources. It's purely a personal collection. Many duplicates - but quite a range also, as I enjoy finding small Champagne houses and trying new products, rather than sticking to the trusty old friends.

Perhaps this does need a thread of its own? Doesn't really go with the spoon collection theme. But much more fun in the collecting. :p

Does anyone collect golf balls?

Johnk maybe ? or some of you other well travelled golfers

Your selfless dedication to the consumption of champagne is laudable.
I should like to assist you some time

For golfers I guess the question is, what is the opposite of a collection? Some of them seem to lose nearly as many balls as they get.

Would be delighted to share some serious bubbles with you - but must retain the right to "first dibs" on the caps! :p
[And apologies to the OP for continuing the digression from spoons to caps - although Dombrow's follow up does suggest that he has a well developed interest in Champagne, so he may like to join the next tasting session also?;)]
