Hi all ,
does anybody know if the daily QF service to ASP ( QF 790 ) has had the new business class installed yet ?
Experienced it from BNE to MEL on Monday and was impressed especially with the IFE ,
Thanks,

Paul

It could be any of the 737-800 fleet. Luck of the draw. They don't put particular 737-800's on particular routes AFAIK

I don't have a list to hand of which are BSI and which aren't BSI but have AVOD, but a few posts on the net suggest VZL VZM VZO VZP VZR VZS have AVOD, and from VZT onwards to VZZ, and then XZA onwards are BSI with AVOD. You basically have a 16 in 54 chance of scoring one.

From the link, it seems there's been a 50% chance in the first 12 days of this year.

Edit: It appears all 8 former JetConnect birds also have AVOD, but not sure if they've got new rego's or not. Could be a 24 in 62 chance. I'm sure someone will correct my wonky maths soon.

I was under the impression that those 738's had been returned to the mainland fleet, and while they still operate across the ditch, are more free to move around Australia too. That is, JetConnect still exists, but they don't have their own fleet.

I'm sure someone with much more knowledge will correct/fix what I've said soon.

Those Jet Connect "birds" all have NZ registration and do not normally operate domestic Oz services.

Not suite where you got "former" from in relation to 73H's ...

That's a relief! It's nice to have certainty of AVOD on TT flights.

I've flown TT on an old 737-800, which didn't have AVOD before... wasn't what I paid for, but I'm glad to have that last bit cleared up. I'm sure I heard they were all coming back to the main fleet, but maybe I misunderstood.

Some T-T flights will be operated by a VH- registered 73H, either ad-hoc or seasonally - SYD-ZQN flights are often so operated.

The ZK- (NZ) registered 734's are those which were absorbed back into the Oz domestic fleet or otherwise dispatched to the graveyards.

I didn't realise any of them came back into the mainline fleet.

Did they reconfigure them to have convertible J? AFAIK all the ZK 734s had fixed J (3 rows of 2x2).

Thank you for clearing that up :)

Actually they had 4 rows of J ... after repatriation some became domestic Freighters.
