Hello

I wonder if any of you had requested to take in a guest (SQ J or SQ Y) into The Private Room (TPR) reserved for paying SQ F passengers.

QF alllows F ticket holder to take in one guest into its F Lounge if the guest is travelling with him / her.

What about SQ's TPR ?

Would anyone know ?

On a related note, has anyone here travelling on SQ Suite asked to have a J or Y guest with you ... say to watch a movie or to share a glass of wine ?

For a few hours, not for the full service, of course.

Thanks for lighting the way

Never had to do such a thing. I think it would be difficult based on the level of staff who check you into the correct part of the lounges especially at Changi.
i have been surprised when I have been escorted past First to The Private Room when I am flying for about 90k of points on a Saver Suites ticket though so unusual things can knock your socks off especially when you have no status.
Good luck is needed.

TPR is for anyone with a SQ F ticket. No ticket no entry.

This includes F tickets that are awards. So paying or award ticket is not relevant. It used to be a while back I believe that you had to have a paid ticket. But this is not the case now.

I am pretty sure that you would have to visit them, as other F passengers would not be appreciative. Maybe if you were the only one, but probably not even then.

Thanks for your response.

I wonder if you had considered the different levels of "privacy" provided by the A380 Suites vis a vis the open-air F seats on 777-300.

Also, I am already aware of your indicated sensitivity by asking in the post for actual experience, not just perception "...has anyone here travelling on SQ Suite asked...."

Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts

Legroom I have flown 8 times in SQ F this year - 16 sectors in total - both in Suites / std F - I have never asked to bring guest forward to eat - IMHO F is F and is occupied by / reserved for F pax - I think asking to bring other pax forward is just not the right thing to do.

As I said - my personal opinion - obviously others might hold different views.

Not travelled SQ F however, I've had my fair share of F with a few other airlines. IMO the F cabin (regardless of carrier) is the domain of the passengers flying F.......all others have to wait until they actually have the F BP in the hand.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Like you, I would never consider asking a J guest to eat with me in F.

However, my question is for a 'lighter' exposure - watch a movie, for example

I do realise it is a sensitive issue, hence the post !

The thought occurred to me when I saw the promo photo showing 2 guests together in the F suite.

Given the opinions so far, it would appear they are both F pax.

Thanks again

Sorry I misread your original post legroom - Suites are obviously spacious but for 2 to watch a movie your guest would be either sitting on your lap or would need eyes in the back of their head - just not practical.

I'd just be telling them how great the Krug or Dom was once you landed in SIN - not much help huh?

Onboard, crew may allow companion (say, in J) to come into F just prior to landing.

As for The Private Room, the rules are very strict but exceptions have been made.

An update on this issue:

SQ politely declines access to Suites and TPR to anyone not holding a F ticket.

So, the exclusivity remains absolute.

Thanks legroom that is exactly how it has been in the past so there have been no changes.
I asked once if I could see a Suite when I was in J on a flight and that was politely declined.
It did increase my determination to get a Suite or two.

I have been asked to accompany a friend to Zurich. It will be SQ Suites. This little black duck has only experienced J once, Y+ twice, and Y upteen times.
Layover in Sin for a couple of days then Sin-Zurich. Return will be LHR_SYD.
As I need to be the eyes and ears for both of us, ANY suggestions/tips/info would be greatly appreciated, so I dont embarrass either one of us.
