HA are temporarily increasing their SYD-HNL service from 7 to 10 flights per week during April to June with their new A330's. Clearly this service is a hit. http://investor.hawaiianairlines.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=82818&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1763413&highlight=

Meanwhile back at QF HQ they are still sticking with 3 x B763's services a week with 20 year old cabins and no personal IFE (except for the 5 inch screen looping system in J that barely works!). Do we live in the third world? Or is there something wrong with QF?

Where would you like to start?

Consider: add up the JQ flights on SYD-HNl, plus QF, plus planned MEl-HNL flights by JQ and how many does that total?

I think with JQ it's 9 services from two cities but not in the same league as HA. Indeed the Qantas group have turned into little more than bottom feeders.

Yes I think they could certainly do a lot better, but aren't they starting to shift aircraft to A330's?

Noooo. That rumor has been circulating for years. There are a couple of A330 flights running soon that are revenue return legs of charters I believe. All regular scheduled flights are B763s.
